Everything looked and smelled so fresh, vibrant and alive!Eventually, we came to a small waterfall surrounded by a cool swimming hole. Our guide said the local people called it the "Fountain of Youth" because the water was rumored to have rejuvenating powers. After our long, sweaty hike, we eagerly jumped into the refreshing pool. I'll never forget how good that cold mountain water felt after trudging through the steamy jungle!On another day, my parents surprised me and my little brother by taking us to an amazing water park on the island. It had numerous swimming pools, thrilling water slides, a gigantic wave pool, and a lazy river where you could float along on inner tubes. We spent the entire day zipping down slides, riding the artificially generated waves, and splashing around without a care in the world.One of the highlights was the huge pirate ship play structure with multiple levels of stairs, tubes, sprayers and small slides. I'll cherish these Hainan memories forever!篇2My Awesome Hainan Holiday AdventureYay, it was finally holiday time! After months of working really hard at school, I was so excited for a break. My parents had an amazing surprise planned for our family vacation too. We were going to Hainan, a tropical island paradise in southern China! I had never been anywhere so warm and beachy before.The journey there was pretty long. We first had to take a flight from our city all the way down to Haikou, the capital of Hainan. I enjoyed looking out the window of the plane though. We flew over forests, rivers, cities, and eventually the bright blue ocean came into view. Hainan is surrounded by the South China Sea.When we arrived at the Haikou airport, it was super hot and humid outside. The warm, sticky air smacked me in the face as soon as we stepped out of the air-conditioned terminal. But it felt kind of nice after being cooped up on a long flight. We hopped in a taxi and headed to our hotel in Sanya, a famous beach resort city.Our hotel was incredible! It had a massive pool area with a waterslide, playground, and swim-up bar (though I wasn't allowed to go to that part). Our room was also really fancy, with a big balcony overlooking groomed gardens and the azure sea in the distance. I couldn't wait to explore.We spent our first full day just relaxing poolside and on the private beach attached to the resort. The sand was so soft and white, and the ocean was this beautiful shade of turquoise I had never seen before. I spent hours splashing in the waves and trying to boogie board. The water was warm like a bathtub!The next day, we went on a boat tour of the surrounding islands and bays. Our guide took us snorkeling at a few different coral reef spots. I went on this one waterslide called the Leap of Faith that was a straight vertical drop! My stomach felt like it was in my throat the whole way down. I also loved boogie boarding in the huge wave pool and floating along the endless river ride. So much fun!We also spent a day just wandering around Sanya City, checking out the lively markets and beautiful parks. I tried so many delicious tropical fruits like rambutan, dragonfruit, and sugar-apple. We also visited a few scenic spots like Tianyahaijiao, nicknamed the "End of the Earth," which is a picturesque cape where you can watch the gorgeous sunset over karst rock formations rising from the sea.On our very last day, my parents took me to Haikou Volcanic Cluster Global Geopark. This national park has ancient volcanic mountains, underground lava tubes, and dry lakes and valleys created by volcanic eruptions. We went on a hike through the Mars-like crimson rock landscapes. Some areas even had pockets of steam vents and sulfuric gases billowing from the ground! It felt like being on another planet.After a week of adventures, it was sadly time to go home. The sand was perfectly white and soft between my toes. The ocean water was the bluest blue I had ever seen, crystal clear and refreshing.
