In the contention(竞争) of the best picture of the
67th Oscar Award in 1995. Film Forrest Gump got six
him and they become good friends. On the battlefield in Vietnam(越南), Forrest saves the lives of many fellow(随从的) soldiers, but he loses his friend Bubba. Among the people saved by Forrest, there is Lieutenant(上尉) Dan, who loses both of his legs and insists that dying on the battlefield is his destiny(宿命).

Jenny is a motherless(没有母亲的) girl whose father is an alcoholic(酒鬼). Forrest and Jenny attend the same school and are best friends all the way up to high school.

After escaping from the Vietnam, Forrest is sent to the combat hospital(战地医院). During the days in hospital Forrest finds his talent(天赋) for ping pong ball. So he is placed(安排 到) in the All-American(全美) Ping-Pong team, which visited China together with official delegation(代表团) headed by President Nixon(尼克松总统).

The Vietnam War
• The Vietnam War, also known as the Second Indochina War, and known in Vietnam as Resistance War Against America was a Cold War-era proxy war(代理战争) that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. This war followed the First Indochina War (1946–54) and was fought between North Vietnam—supported by the Soviet Union, China and other communist allies—and the government of South Vietnam—supported by the United States, Philippines and other anti-communist allies. The U.S. government viewed its involvement in the war as a way to prevent a Communist takeover of South Vietnam. But it failed in the end. Direct U.S. military involvement ended on 15 August 1973.The capture of Saigon by the North Vietnamese Army in April 1975 marked the end of the war, and North and South Vietnam were reunified the following year. The war exacted a huge human cost in terms of fatalities (see Vietnam War casualties).

In this film, I have to say, "Forrest Gump is a lucky dog".
