Daniel writes an article to introduce his best friend Kate from the perspectives of name, relationship, looks, personality and future plan.Why:This lesson locates in the last period of Unit 1 Friends. Students have accumulated certain language about friends and learned how to introduce friends orally in the first five periods. So this period aims to train studentsto use and organize language correctly and properly, treasure friendship and learn from each other.How:The discourse is about introducing best friends, which belongs to the theme of “People and society”. It can be logically divided into three parts: introduction (Para.1), main body (Para.2 & Para.3) and conclusion (Para.4). The first part shows the basic information of Daniel’s best friend Kate from her name and their relationship. And the second part covers the looks and personality of Kate. Moreover, the writer introduces the future plan of Kate and shows his hope at last.Teaching goalsBy the end of this lesson, students are able to:1.
