什么是状语从句呢？

定义:
一个_句_子__用作状语时,在语法上叫状语从句。这个句子可修饰主句的_谓__语__，_定__语__，_状__语__ 或 _整_个__句__子__。状语从句通常由一个＿连＿词＿引起或起连词作用的词__组__引起或由_副__词__， _名__词__词_组____等
3．某些表示时间的名词词组，如 the (very) moment (= as soon as ), the minute (= as soon as ), the instant (= as soon as ), the day, the year, the morning, every time, each time, next time, the first time等，也可以引导时间状语从句，如：
1. when, while , as, whenever, before, after, until, till, since, ever since, once, as soon as 2. every time, next/last/each time, the first time, the moment, the minute, the instant, the second 3. instantly, directly, immediately 4. hardly…when, scarcely…when , barely…when
2．有些词，如 immediately, directly, instantly等，当用于 as soon as 意义时，也可以引导时间状语从句，如：
I got in touch with him immediately I received his letter. My sister came directly she got my message. The machine will start instantly you press the button.

状语从句的位置比较灵活，有时可以放于句首，有时可以置于句末。状语从句位于句首时，其后常用逗号与后面的句子隔开。
状语从句可以根据其用途分为：时间状语从句、地点状语从句、原因状语从句、结果状语从句、目的状语从句、条件状语从句、让步状语从句、比较状语从句、方式状语从句。
