I. Brief analysis of the teaching material
This lesson is taken from Go for it, Grade8, Student’s Book,
Unit5. This is the fourth period of this unit. This part is about
reading. This passage talks about what people were doing when
some important events in American history happened. This period
plays a very important role in this unit. Students learn about some
events to review the past progressive tense, and they master some
reading skills through this lesson.
II. Student analysis
Students have mastered the basic usage of the past progressive
tense through the first three period of learning. So they have the
ability to read more materials now. They should be encouraged to
improve the reading skills and develop better reading habits in this

本课所授内容:Go For It 八年级上册Unit 5 Section B 2a~2e 的阅读。
本单元主要话题:谈论娱乐节目(entertainment)。
