一、教学目标

1. 能够听、说、读、写6个职业名称:scientist, postman, cook, police

officer, doctor, teacher;

2. 能够听、说、读、写6个职业的问句及简短回答;

3. 能够谈论自己和他人未来的职业梦想;

4. 能够说出一些与职业相关的语言表达。

二、教学内容

本节课是四年级上册英语的第六单元,主要内容是职业相关的单词、问答和情景交际。

三、教学重点难点

1. 6个职业名称、问句及简短回答的掌握;

2. 谈论自己和他人的职业梦想;

3. 职业相关的语言表达。

四、教学准备

1. 教学课件;

2. 练习册子;

3. 笔、纸、卡片。

五、教学过程

1. Warm-up

(1)Greeting T: Good morning/afternoon, class! S: Good

morning/afternoon, teacher!

(2)Free-talk T: What do you want to be when you grow up? S1: I

want to be a scientist. S2: I want to be a cook. S3: I want to be a

postman. S4: I want to be a police officer. S5: I want to be a doctor.

S6: I want to be a teacher.

2. Presentation

(1)Present the new words: scientist, postman, cook, police officer,

doctor, teacher. T: Look at the screen, what’s this? (show the pictures of the six jobs) Ss: scientist, postman, cook, police officer, doctor,

teacher. T: Can you spell the words? Please spell with me. (spelling) T:

What do they do? Ss: Scientists do research; cooks prepare food; postmen

deliver letters and parcels; doctors treat patients; police officers

keep people safe; teachers give lessons.

(2)Present the question and answer patterns: T: Let’s play a game.

I will say the questions, and you will answer them. Please listen

carefully and try to answer the questions. T: What does a scientist do?

Ss: Scientists do research. T: What does a cook do? Ss: Cooks prepare

food. T: What does a postman do? Ss: Postmen deliver letters and parcels.

T: What does a doctor do? Ss: Doctors treat patients. T: What does a

police officer do? Ss: Police officers keep people safe. T: What does a

teacher do? Ss: Teachers give lessons.

(3)Listen to the tape and read after the tape. T: Please open your

books to page 58. Let’s listen to the tape and read after it.

3. Practice

(1)Role-play activity T: Emily wants to know what everyone wants

to be when they grow up. Please work in pairs, one is Emily and the

other is you. Ask and answer like this: Emily: What do you want to be

when you grow up? Student: I want to be a _______.

Example: Emily: What do you want to be when you grow up? Student1: I

want to be a scientist. Emily: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Student2: I want to be a cook.

(2)Interview activity T: Please think about what you want to be

when you grow up. Now, please work in groups of three. One is the

interviewer, and the other two are interviewees. The interviewer will

ask questions, and the interviewees will answer them. For example:

Interviewer: What do you want to be when you grow up? Interviewee1: I

want to be a teacher. Interviewee2: I want to be a doctor. Interviewer:

Why do you want to be a teacher? Interviewee1: Because I like helping

students learn and grow. Interviewer: Why do you want to be a doctor?

Interviewee2: Because I want to help people feel better when they are

sick.

(3)Writing activity T: Please take out a piece of paper. Write

down what you want to be when you grow up, and why you want to be that.

Share your writing with your partners or the whole class. 4. Assessment

(1)Oral assessment T: Students, please choose one job and tell us

what it means. If you like, you can also tell us why you want to do that

job.

(2)Written assessment T: Please open your exercise books and

finish the exercise on page 59.

六、教学反思
