黑布林英语阅读Gulliver’s Travels教学设计1.文本解读本书是上海外语教育出版社出版的《黑布林英语阅读》初三年级系列,全书约为2.2万词。
(1)[What]本书的主题是“人与社会”,展现了主人公Gulliver在小人国、巨人国、浮岛国、慧马国等一系列虚构的国家所发生的离奇经历,映射了英国当时的社会现实。

(3)[How]黑布林版《格列佛游记》一书共有15个章节,本节课所讲述的巨人国的故事涉及到本书第六、七、八、九四个章节。
其中第六、七章是故事的开端和发展阶段,介绍Gulliver由于海上暴风雨误入巨人国,被一位农民带回家,与农民九岁的女儿结下深厚的友谊,但却被农民当做赚钱的工具。
第八章是故事的高潮,介绍Gulliver而后又被带入皇宫,沦为皇室的宠物,但他又与国王的政见不同。
第九章为故事的结局,讲述Gulliver从巨人国逃离。
作者文笔朴素简练,主要运用一般过去式,用第一人称的口吻展开叙述,向读者娓娓道来,用My dear reader, you can imagine, you may think这样的语言拉近作者和读者的关系,令读者平添亲切感,也增加了故事的可信度,还有利于读者体会人物情绪,引起共鸣。
