Building diversity and inclusion into the way they operate around the globe continues to be an essential part of their business and the culture as Googlers.1.Being yourself is a job requirement at Google. It encourages Googlers to express themselves and Intellectual curiosity and diverse perspectives drive their policies, their work environment, their perks and their profits.2. Google has offices and staffs around the worldIt nurtures a culture of inclusion and respect by hiring talented people from all walks of life who believe in the ability of technology to change the world, and are as passionate about their lives as they are about their work. How to create a culture of diversity1. The 6th Sense: Diversity Week in IndiaThey kicked off the week with “Diversity 101,” a tech talk covering basic frameworks of diversity and culture, resources available at Google, initiatives led by Googlers around the world, and how Googlers in India can get involved. They also conducted a “Yes, We Can” workshop for a select group of women who had been nominated by their managers to participate. Participants brainstormed and shared ideas on overcoming obstacles, prioritizing work, and being a “super woman.”2. Sum of Google CelebrationsIn Bangalore and Hyderabad, they launched the Sum of Google Celebrations for the first time in India. In collaboration with the Google Culture Club, Googlers in Taiwan came out in large numbers to showcase the many ways they contribute to the Sum of Google.Equality and mutual respect1.If you want, you can share a office with the CEOIn Google, there is an interesting story about the using of office. an Indian engineer which entered into the company the first day asked CEO: "can I share your office?" The CEO agreed the requirements. Because he thought it as a joke. However, Indian engineers took his own things moved to the office the next day. Until Google moved into new headquarters building, the engineer and two other Indian engineers moved into a bigger office. But the CEO still use a corner as his office.Everyone in Google company is equal, everybody can enjoy office space if he want. This equal ideas also manifest in many other ways, this feature can largely inspire the staff's creativity.2.you are free to put forward special requirements on Friday's meetingAt Google, Friday may be the best day for employees. Because they can put forward their requirement at the Friday meeting and that is Google an ancient tradition. On Friday, Google's founders and current chief executive would have lunch with Google employees. At this time, Google employee could propose all sorts of "unfair" requirement to them. Generally, the two founders will satisfy the employees' excessive demands. For example: somebody hopes he can bring their pets to work in Google work. And the founders answer it without a thought. But you should premise your pets do not yell and bite other. Then pet dog appeared in Google the next week.3.you can decorate your office in your styleIn Google, everyone has its own space. And every employee can get a hundred dollars to decorate your office. You can do everything in your office if you like. For example, some employees do not like to wear shoes, then they use 100 dollars to buy wooden floor to decorate their offices; Some employees buy an antique telephone in the eBay auction, and they also put it in a corner of office, but now because of the large number of Google employee, the telephone had to put on hall of Google. Creativity1. A LICENSE TO PURSUE DREAMSA licenst to dreamsGooglers are allowed to spend 20 percent of their work time on projects that interest them, things they are passionate about. Google's 20 percent time is a systemic expression of trust and belief in Googlers' creativity and innovative focus.Instead of detracting from the company's productivity, some of Google's best products —like gmail and Google maps —were 20-percent projects, started and nurtured by people with great passion and interest in their success.2.IDEAS COME FROM EVERYWHEREGoogle's company-wide goal to create an ever-better user experience keeps Googlers striving for new ideas, which are the lifeblood of their dynamic and innovative culture. Ideas can come from customers, engineers, or from top-down strategic priorities. It follows, too, that everyone is expected to have ideas, to participate in the mission of serving customers. Google has set up systems in which people feel they can contribute and that their perspectives and ideas are valued.3.CREATIVITY LOVES CONSTRAINT4.Creativity loves constraintMost people think of creativity as free and unrestrained thought. Another way to consider creativity is as problem-solving. To do good problem-solving, to think like an engineer, one needs the constraints.Once the parameters have been identified, creativity is unrestrained within those limits4.INNOV ATION, NOT INSTANT PERFECTION5.Innovation, not instant perfectionOne of the game-changers that Google has initiated is the idea that it is better to get out there with an early product — even before all the kinks are worked out — and to listen to what its users say about how the product should grow and change. This philosophy requires quick prototyping or product development, relinquishing control, risk-taking, and a good-enough-for-now mindset. Googlers have come to know that perfect products that come to market later than imperfect ones falter or even fail5.The incentive system of TOP100Google's senior directors all have a creative list of "TOP100". In 2005, it has reached more than 250 ideas on the list. And engineers can choose their favorite project to do research after looking the list. Meanwhile, employee can form their work groups to finish the work.。
