Get ready to learn some really cool stuff!Xinyang is located in the southern part of Henan, not too far from the Huaihe River. It has a long history going back over2,500 years to the Spring and Autumn Period in ancient China. There are lots of cultural relics and historic sites from different dynasties. My favorite is the Gushi County Ancient Buildings group - it has houses, temples, and government buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties that are super old but still really well-preserved.The geography around Xinyang is very diverse and beautiful. We have towering mountains, winding rivers, lush forests, and fertile plains. One of the most famous scenic spots is Mount Jigong which has gorgeous peaks, valleys, waterfalls, and caves. I went hiking there with my dad last year and saw some incredible views! The Huaihe River also flows right through our city,dividing it into two parts. There are nice parks and walking paths along the riverbanks.Something really unique about Xinyang is our local cuisine and agricultural products.
