If you want to know Black-level, insert paper into the feeding assembly, and do test.Black _level : V = 3.5V ~ 5.0V2. If the voltage of Black level is lower than the above range, lower the reflecting rate of Black mark or adjust the value of R1.3. Setting the first printing position by black mark detection may have difference(±2mm) from standard printing position.4. Head Control Circuit (KPS-Recommended Circuit – Protective Circuit Essential)Fig 16. Drive Circuit for Head DriveNote: Since the “head solenoid on time” may be affected by the electric noise or static electricity in the surrounding atmosphere, it is essential that a protective circuit be added to prevent the external elements from changing the solenoid on time.2-6-4. Head Drive RangeThe printer head is designed to operate within a certain predetermined range as shown below. It has to be controlled so that it remains between the maximum and the minimum values. If it goes outside the range, the printing quality may be reduced and the printer’s longevity may be shortened. Therefore, the upper-end of the drive range must be equal to or less than 365㎲.z Solenoid Use Zone: 1) Use Zone Width: 340㎲ ±9㎲(DCV 24.0)2) Max. Pulse Width: 365㎲(DCV 21.6)3) Min. Head Drive Timing ChartFig 19. Head Drive Timing WaveformNote:1) A Print Start Time equivalent to the mechanism’s movement deviation that occurs while the carriage changes direction must be compensated so that the printing position is adjusted (See “Printing Control” in Technical Guide.). If the printer generates double lines/images while printing characters or graphics even after the above is done, we recommend that you print only in a single direction.2) The minimum cycle time of the timing signals must be 0.93ms.3) The print solenoid drive timing for half-dot printing must be set when half of the trigger pulse timing signal cycle has passed.4) Do not repeat the same dots several times within the head pulse time forhalf-dot printing.5) Make sure the operations are carried out within the value ranges given in Fig 21 to avoid problems in the head drive.2-7. The perforation should not be of the same height as the sprocket holes.2. Paper must be fed in the ↑ direction.3. There should be no punch-out residue in the sprocket holes.4. There should be no gathers immediately above and below the perforation.5. If total paper thickness at the gather points exceeds 0.4㎜, paper feed pitchproblems and ribbon contamination may occur.6. Gathers and oval holes should be located on the right side only.7. Only paper with the above specifications should be used. Otherwise, a paperfeeding problem may occur due to poor operatability for paper insertion.2-8-2 Black mark specifications1) The size and position of Black mark should be same as below.2) The reflecting rate of the black mark must b 10% or less, and thereflecting rate of the white b 70% or more. The reflecting rate means thevalue which is measured with Macbeth density meter(PCMII)D filter.Notes: when it is not necessary to detect the black mark, shut down the power supplyto the black mark detector to protect the detector.2-9. Adjustments3-1. Vertical Character AdjustmentVertical character alignment is a technical solution to the problem of position inconsistency between Forward Print and Backward Print. It makes the Backward Print position consistent with the Forward Print position by compensating the “backlash value” (∆P) that occurs in the mechanism through adjusting the circuit with the Forward Print position as the reference point. Vertical character adjustment should be 3-1-1. ∆P AdjustmentSince ∆P always occurs in the same direction and a step motor typically does not allow error accumulation, the entire line tends to shift minutely to the left. Therefore, the printing position adjustment should be done by receiving the dipswitch input, which is a hardware input.Fig 27.3-1-2. Dipswitch Control Circuit (See Technical Guide for details.)3-1-3. Dipswitch Settingas shown in the picture below , and then choose a dip number that makes alignment consistent.Fig 28.Ex.) In the above, choose Backlash #2, which makes the vertical alignment consistent and then complete the setting.3-2. Head Gap AdjustmentThe head gap must be maintained in a certain condition because its condition affects print quality, the functioning of the head carriage and paper jams.Head gap adjustment is done when the printer has been in use for a long period of time, after a repair (after replacing the printer head), when print quality becomes poor, or when dots are omitted intermittently, in order to maintain print quality.1)Head GapHead Gap Spec: 0.55mm±0.05mm (See Technical Guide for detailed specifications.)2) Adjusting the Head Gapwith Neji-lock adhesive.(See Technical Guide for details.)4. Important Instructions for Applied Design s for the Printer4-1. Mechanism Attachment1) Vibration-Proof StructureWhen 2) Mechanism and Separation DesignMake sure you give at least a 2.0mm space between the mechanism and the body.Enough space must be given to accommodate any protruding parts underneath themechanism. (See picture below.)Fig 29.When designing the paper insertion and ejection openings of the main body, add a cover to prevent foreign objects (coins, bits of stone and other objects that could makes paper insertion difficult) from entering. When designing4-3. Heat Insulation DesignThe step motor attached to the mechanism may generate high-temperature heat during use and therefore heat insulation must be a design consideration.4-4. Mechanism GroundingStatic electricity and other electrical noise may damage printer (See Specification Overall Dimension.) its functioning.5.
