Xinglin During the Three Kingdoms Period, a man named Dong Feng was skilled in medicine and had noble medical ethics. He cured people of disease but always refused to receive thanks or gifts, only to ask the healer to plant an almond tree in front of his house to show their gratitude. Five trees in severe cases and one in mild cases. Years later, the trees became a forest, with many apricots growing on them. He built a warehouse and told people that people who wanted apricots didn't have to pay for them. They only need to have some grains in exchange. In this way, the grains exchanged for apricots were piled up, and he used them to help the poor. People thanked him very much and gave him the plaque "Xinglin". This word of praise became the elegant name of medical ethics and medical skills.

According to legend, Dong Feng met a tiger lying in the grass one day on his way home. Dong Feng carefully observed that the tiger had no fierce expression, but remained motionless, shedding tears and having a very painful expression. It seemed that the tigers was asking for Dong Feng's help. Dong looked at the tiger carefully and said, "You will come here tomorrow at this time and I will treat you." The tiger nodded away. The next day Dong Feng put two iron rings on his arms and asked the tiger to open his mouth. Rings are used to prevent tigers from biting. He took out the bone in the tiger's throat by hand and cured the tiger's disease. Later, the tiger guarded the apricot forest for Dong in return for his kindness. Nowadays, people use "Hushouxinglin" to praise people with superb medical skills like Dong Feng.
