NSEFC Module 2 Unite 4 wildlife protection Pre-reading Reading Comprehension
Teaching objective:
By the end of the lesson , students will be able to :
1.Talk about why some wildlife become endangered
2.Know some concrete situation about wildlife
e some reading skills like skimming ,scanning ,guessing word meaning for specific reading purpose

Guide students to achieve literal and deep understanding of the text through different reading tasks 2.teaching difficult points:
Enable students to know how to get information effectively by using different reading skills. Teaching method:

Teaching procedures:
Step1.Pre-reading(10mins)
1.Show some pictures of wildlife and introduce them briefly and know the English name of each one:koala lion panda giraffe (3mins)
2.Ask students some problems the endangered species faced and make students to discuss the reason in group and then answer the questions.(5mins)
3.Predict the content through the title and pictures of the passage(2mins)
Step2.While-reading(20mins)
1.Skim the whole passage and get the main idea , then ask a few of students to show their ideas (2mins)
2.Scan the whole passage with following questions ,then ask a few of students to answer the questions.(4mins)
①Where Daisy have been?
②How could Daisy go to these places?
③How many kinds of animals did the author mentioned?
④Why are elephant numbers increasing in Zimbabwe?
3.Carefully reading : ask students to read each paragraph carefully ,then through the group work to write down its main idea and the supporting details in the charts.(14mins)

2.role play(6mins)
Let students to make their own conversations with partners to describe why the number of wildlife decrease and how to protect them, then ask a few of students to show their conversations.
(1)Daisy:What happened to you? Why do you become endangered species?
Antelope: Because we are being killed for the wool.
Daisy:I’m sorry to hear that.We will take measures to help you.
(2)Daisy:What happened? Why did your numbers decease rapidly?
Elephant:Because farmers hunted us without mercy.They said we destroy their farms.
Daisy:OK, Government will help you .They will make sure that farmers can get money from the tourist.Then they will not destroy your habitat to expand their farms.

Read the problems of our textbooks and you can analyze these problems with the help of the chart, then give your own suggestions to WWF.
