• 这一幅，贴在列车的车窗边。“严禁向窗外抛扔物品”，译文是“Strictly forbid toward window to throw to throw a product outside.”其中将“抛扔”翻译为“throw to throw” 真可谓是鬼斧神工，让人“叹服”。编者注：译成“Don't throw anything out of window.”。
• “果皮箱”竟然成了“fruit水果”“leather皮革”“suitcase手提箱”三个单词！你会把水果、皮革丢在这样的手提箱里吗？其实，“果皮箱” 英语中有个简单的词“litterbin”，就算不知道这个词，也可以翻译成“垃圾箱”（rubbish bin）。
• “The road segment bent nasty road ago narrow， Asking each visitor limits soon Drive，notice a safety！”句中语法错误连连,有网友跟帖:“天哪!那里会对外宾开放吗?相当汗颜!” “Sharp bends & narrow road ahead， drive safely！”

车厢的翻译是不妥的。有另一个词“carriage”是专门用来指火车车厢
的。下半句，“watch for”在朗文字典上的意思是“等待，期待”之意。
若将警示牌上的英文再翻译过来，是“请等待一个安全”。显然，谬
矣！所以，不妨翻译为：“Carriage conjunction, please be careful”。
• 注意安全，坡道路滑”被翻译成“TO TAKE NOTICE OF SAFE THE SLPPERY ARE VERY CRAFTY”，刘老师说，这句英文翻译成中文应该是“注意保险箱，湿滑的路是很狡猾的”，“与原来的中文意思完全不符，会让外国人看了一头雾水。”

• 若是根据其英文“Please take good personal luggage”再译成中文的话，得到的是“请带上好的个人物品”。好的物品就随身带，不好的就扔吗？这句提示语的英文翻译，将“good”一词去掉可以，但若换成“Please pay attention to your luggage”似乎更符合英文的语言习惯。

“足下留情春意更浓”
• 翻译为“If you don，t trample me，the spring feeling can de more intense”，同样，“don’t”写错了，而“can de”则应该是“can be”。“我觉得这句话翻译得太复杂了，公共场所的标语应该简洁明了，语言越简单越好，这样很多人才能看懂，毕竟有很多市民是不怎么精通英语的。”王娜建议这句翻译为“if you protect me，we will be more beautiful.”简洁易懂些。
• 这是典范的中文暗示法，英文中底子没有这种说法，就间接说"Keep off the grass"不就好了，说什么Don't play around the green for lifes,其实不可理解！
• 面对全部用汉语拼音写成的路牌，“老外”一脸茫然

• 关于“出口”，应该是在国外流传最广的一个笑话了。在北京某汽车城的二手车交易市场出口处,一块写着“Export” 的出口指示牌格外明显。而“Export”的本意是“外贸出口”,如果用在这里，就意味着“逛市场的人都要被当成商品被卖到国外”。

• 被译成“FIXED TOURISM UNIT”。FIXED的中文翻译是固定的，含有强迫、必须的意思，整句翻译让人理解为“到古镇游玩必须到此地”，正确翻译是 “OFFICIAL TOURISM UNIT”，因为“OFFICIAL”是官方指定的意思。
• 全句应改为“Celebrating Hefei, China the Fourth Baogong Cultural Festival and the 60th Birthday of the Motherland”。

“keep out”的解释是，“用于警示牌，切勿靠近(进入)”。老外若
