他发明了摆钟。

惠更斯于1656年造出了人类历史上第一架摆钟。

这台钟用一个下垂的重力作为动力，经多个齿轮传动向单摆施以冲力，使摆不致因空气阻力和摩擦而停止摆动，同时摆的等时运动又调节着重锤的下降和指针的运动。

惠更斯将制成的第一台“有摆落地座钟”献给了荷兰政府。

这台钟的问世标志着人类进入了一个新的计时时代。

1657年，惠更斯取得了摆钟的专利，1658年，出版《钟表论》一书，对摆钟的结构作了说明。

Hook is about to make them all ‘walk the plank’, but he hears th e sound of the crocodile and goes to hide.Chapter 8When Peter Pan arrives, the children and the pirates begin to fight. Peter Pan and Captain Hook fight each other for a long time, but Captain Hook jumps overboard and is swallowed by the hungry crocodile. The children take over the ship and sail away from Neverland.
