Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I am glad to give you a speech about stress, yes, just the topic you heard.Psychologist tell us that stress is a state of worry caused by the problem of living , such as too much work or study , heavy responsibilities , and quickened pace of life .Statistics show that stress comes from every detail in our life. Financial problems, poor health, being laid off may be the stress that most adults now suffering. As students in the university, we are also under our special stress. While study, having to take various tests and submit a project against a deadline may put a great pressure on us. And the things make us felt stressed may be our parents’ greater expectations on us than we could reach. Later, when we are likely to graduate, some other problems will also annoy us. I think we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and how we can best use what we’ve learned at college in our future job.The chief problem we should face to is our attitudes towards stress .People usually say they can not live in the sun except they escape from stress. It’s unwelcome! Yes, however, very necessary. Just image a world where stress does not exist and people lead their life in a very comfortable way. But is this kind of living condition as perfect as we hope? Without stress, they may feel very satisfied with the current life but lack of power to discover new things. Too much satisfaction result in nothing except a countermarch of the society. No stress, no development. So a certain amount of stress is good. It can stimulate us and increase our level of alertness.And our answer to stress is another vital problem. How to do with ourselves when stress suddenly breaks into our life? To wave the white flag and admit our inability, to give up to our ideality, or worst, just to suicide as to put an end to everything … Of cause not. The principle is to tackle with stress gentlely and harmoniously. We should try our best to release ourselves. Such as to do some exercise , to listen to traditional Chinese music or classical music to ease our minds and to learn to view these changes of life as challenges .It’s no use crying over spilt milk . Only to accept what has happened can solve the problem.Ok, I think I was under large stress 3 minutes before, but now I am here and have finished my speech. 浅谈“Duty Report”在英语教学中的作用作者：陈丽丽来源：《大东方》2019年第02期摘要：3-5分钟的值日报告（Duty Report）是英语课堂教学的一个重要环节。
这种简单的英语报告对渲染课堂气氛、调动和激发学生英语学习的积极性和创造性、及时复习巩固课堂学习内容起着不可低估的作用。
关键词：值日报告;作用当今世界，英语已成为我国对外开放和与各国交往的重要工具，这就对英语教学提出了更高的要求。
英语教师要努力把教学过程变成一个交际过程，并培养学生运用英语进行交际的能力。
在英语课堂教学中，英语教师要以创设合适的交际环境来为学生们提供实践的机会和锻炼口语表达能力，其中以充分利用课前3-5分钟的值日生报告让学生做热身运动的值日报告尤为有效。
多年的实践证明，短短3-5分钟的值日报告，不仅提高了学生的听说能力，也激发了学生的参与意识，培养他们的创造性思维。
值日报告是利用上课开始时的三到五分钟时间，让学生们轮流值日口诉报告天气、日期、出勤情况、姓名、年龄或做有关家庭、学校、日常生活等的专题汇报。
它的内容可以天马行空，也可以结合所学课文的句型和内容进行听说复述等训练。
它不仅仅是英语课堂教学中的一个小环节，只要运用得当，它将发挥它强大的功能。
而它对英语课堂教学的促进作用，可概括为以下几个方面：一、“值日报告”能活跃课堂气氛，调动学生学习英语的积极性传统的英语教学大多是老师讲学生听，学生无积极主动地参与到实际的教学活动中去，他们往往只是被动地听或记笔记，只是动耳、动手、并没有动口，这也是很多中国学生英语口语不好的主要原因，以至于学了那么多年的英语到头来并没有实现其语言功能，学来学去累死累活都只是为了考试，英语没有用武之地，让我们中国人觉得学英语一点用都没有因而对其失去了学习兴趣。
现代英语教学就是要克服以上的弊端，鼓励学生多说多练，“值日报告”正好提供了一个让学生开口说的机会，通过“值日报告”让学生真正参与进英语教学过程，并从学习英语的过程中感受到快乐;同时，“值日报告”也改变了传统的沉闷的教学氛围，创设了轻松、愉悦的教学气氛。
Duty ReportHello everyone,today I want to share with you an extraordinary day of mine last week.It fell on last Saturday.It was a muggy, gloomy and slothful day. There were not many people on the streets and buses were almost empty.It was 10 o’clock in the morning. My father still didn’t get up,while my mother was surfing on the internet as usual.Everything in my family was so tranquil just like every Saturday I spent at home after I’ve come to university.The door of my room was shut mutely and about 10 minutes later it would be opened by my mother and then my cell phone was ringing.“Where are you?” said mum with surprise“I’ m with my friend leery at the Century Square ,East Nanjing Road”“So?”“So,I’l l eat out and will return home late this afternoon.”“Well,well.Take care of yourself and don’t be to late to get home.”“O.K.No problem”Do you know what happened during March 30th to April 1st?If you don’t have any idea,let me tell you.I accompanied my friend to attend the mass election of My Show.In the contrast with the scenery besides my neighbourhood, here is an absolutely opposite scene.There were youngsters all over, talking,laughing,singing ,dancing and various activities.However,they have the same expectation, aspiration and their eyes gleamed with same hope-----to be outstanding from ordinary people and raise to be a super star.I was excited and seemed to be more nervous than my friend. If she becomes a pop star, I’ll become the focus of the media as well. She was handsome and her style is akin to Seven’s. She has a good reputation in her university, so I thought it was very likely for her to get the pass.Can you guess what? To my disappointment, she failed.The judge asked her to sing a second song but she didn’t prepare and then was eliminated.Though she didn’t pass the mass election , I still have confidence in her. She said she would learn break dancing and get well prepared next year and I said I would be her fans ,supporting her forever.In the evening back home, I thought a lot.Nowadays, mass election seems so prevailing that everything has something to do with it, for example, the enrollment of a DJ , an election of image representative of a city. If you tap “mass election”in Chinese in google, you’ll get777,000 items. I don’t want to criticize the attitude or mentality of those who attend the contest, whether they regard it as a good chance to change their life or just a shortcut to a successful life. I don’t want to guess the malicious purpose of the host of these kinds of contests. I don’t want to commend on the merits and demerits to be the winner in such games. I still don’t want to relate other social issues to analyze the changing values of oursociety.I mean I don’t want not I can’t .I think everyone here can do the job by comparison and contrast ,by classification, by reading a lot and summarizing the conclusion,or by other means to analyze this issue. It’ s always easy to say something that some else’s has said .It’s always easy to fellow what most people have done.What I realize last Saturday is that you can do whatever you want even it’s crazy or stupid. Go and find troubles One must make mistakes till he reaches the truth. Settling down or being sophisticated is not an approach to a better life but to an ordinary life, a life is so mediocre that has little difference from your parents’.I appreciate a word very much in Chinese it is “生命在于折腾”When you’re in a confusion, you’ll try your best to trace the answer. Once you realized that you’ve chosen a wrong way, you’ll form a clear judgment of what is right. If you don’t trouble yourself very often,you don’t keep making mistakes ,always try to stay where is safe ,then your life will be limited in that small circle.My friend will succeed; she may have to pay off. Whatever her life will be, I’ll support her. And whatever your life will be , there’s always being a person who will stand for you. That’s far enough.In the end ,are you habituated to everything in your life? Is your life today a simplified copy of yesterday’s?
