2004年10月，中共中央、国务院颁布了《关于进一步加强和改进大学生思想政治教育的意见》。

《意见》指出：大学生是十分宝贵的人才资源，是民族的希望，是祖国的未来。

加强和改进大学生思想政治教育，具有重大而深远的战略意义。

2005年1月17日至18日，全国“加强和改进大学生思想政治教育工作”会议在北京召开，充分体现了以胡锦涛同志为总书记的党中央对大学生的亲切关怀、殷切希望和对大学生思想政治教育工作的高度重视。

2006年3月15日，十届人大四次会议上，温家宝总理在《政府工作报告》中再次强调：要加强社会主义文化建设。

抓好理想信念教育，特别是青少年的思想道德教育。

这既对当代大学生思想政治教育的创新提出了要求，也为大学生思想政治教育创新提供了科学的指导。

高校思想政治教育关系到我国人才培养的质量和方向。

但传统思想政治教育方法与现代社会发展差距的不断扩大，使高校思想政治教育达不到应有的效果，因此方法的创新势在必行。

然而，目前理论界对高效思想政治方法创新的讨论仅仅停留在原则、内容、方向层面，而鲜有具体操作层面的涉及。

针对这一现实，本文根据当代大学生的思想特点，以增强大学生思想政治教育实效性为核心目标，探究符合大学生思想心理发展特点的，符合教育内容要求的，操作性强、针对性强、实效性强的大学生思想政治教育方法创新的途径，为提高大学生的综合素质提供一些参考，为大学生思想政治教育工作者提供一些帮助。

全文由五部分组成：第一部分：对高校思想政治教育方法创新的含义作了详细阐述，并分析了高校思想政治教育方法创新的地位及意义。

主要包括：方法的含义；广义狭义思想政治教育方法的内涵；思想政治教育方法的分类；高校思想政治教育方法的含义、性质及地位。

第二部分：分析了高校思想政治教育方法创新的理论依据和现实依据。

主要从我党的思想政治工作传统；思想政治教育规律；我国当代大学生思想政治特点；我国高校思想政治教育的现实状况等几个方面做了探讨，为后面探究高校思想政治教育方法创新的途径奠定了坚实的基础。

第三部分：阐述了高校思想政治教育方法创新的原则。

指明了高校思想政治教育方法的创新不是随意的、盲目的，而是要受到高校思想政治教育环境、内容、对象以及思想政治教育规律的规范和制约。

第四部分：这一部分运用比较的方法，一边揭示高校传统思想政治教育方法的缺陷和不足，一边提出了富有当今时代特征，符合当代大学生思想心理特征和学习、生活方式的思想政治教育新方法。

第五部分：通过前四章的分析研究，本部分试图从高校思想政治理论课、专业课、网络媒体、校园文化、实践活动和心理咨询等几个方面来探寻高校思想政治教育方法创新的有效途径。
