本单元以配有录音的Comic strip开头，由可爱的小狗Eddie和电子狗Hobo之间幽默而简短的对话引出going shopping,即本单元所围绕的中心。

紧随其后的Welcome to the unit中出现一些生日礼物的图片，为ReadingA的内容做铺垫。
