TheUCC3946supervisorycircuitprovidesaccuratere-setandwatchdogfunctionsforavarietyofmicroproces-sorapplications.Theresetcircuitpreventsthemicroprocessorfromexecutingcodeduringundervoltageconditions,typicallyduringpower-upandpower-down.Inordertopreventerraticoperationinthepresenceofnoise,voltage“glitches”whosevoltageamplitudeandtimedurationarelessthanthevaluesspecifiedinFig.1are ignored.Thewatchdogcircuitmonitorsthemicroprocessor’sac-tivity,ifthemicroprocessordoesnottoggleWDIduringtheprogrammablewatchdogperiodWDOwillgolow,alertingthemicroprocessor’sinterruptofafault.TheWDOpinistypicallyconnectedtothenon-maskablein-putofthemicroprocessorsothatanerrorrecoveryrou-tine can be executed.APPLICATION INFORMATION
