Module 7 Unit 2 RobotsReading: Satisfaction guaranteed教学设计教材解读:本单元话题是“机器人”和“科幻文学作品”,本课文是单元的主课文,是关于机器人Tony在Claire家中为她排忧解难的故事。
在Tony的帮助下,她变得有魅力了,家也富有品位。
更不可思议的是,他们产生了感情!文章较长,需要引导学生进行一定的预测,在阅读过程中,需要抓住情感变化这条主线,同时,因生词较多,在课前布置学生预习课文出现的重点生词。
教学目标1.熟记阅读中出现的新单词的中文意思;2.能找出表达心理的词汇;3.能用一段话描写Claire在机器人到家后的心理变化.教学重点和难点1.重点1)词汇:desire, alarm, sympathy, favour, accompany, declare, test out, ring up, turn around, leave, ,•alone语篇:Who are the main characters and their identities?What is the order of the time?What events happened according to the timeline?How did Claire change her feelings towards Tony?2)难点:能用一段话描写Claire在机器人到家后的心理变化.学情分析授课对象是秀全中学高二学生,学生英语基础比较好,因此需要教师引导他们不仅关注阅读课中相关主题词汇的意义理解,而且还要引导他们关注课文情节的概括、人物情感变化和内涵的挖掘,并通过相关阅读技能的指导,提高他们的课文阅读能力。

2.教材分析本单元以机器人和科幻小说为话题,介绍了20世纪世界知名的科幻小说家Isaac Asimov写于1951的Satisfaction Guaranteed 和作者的生平。
Reading的课文是根据科幻小说作家阿西莫夫的Satisfaction Guaranteed改编的。
在这个故事里非常具有人类智能的机器人托尼,他是一个身材高大、相貌英俊、聪明机智的完美男人,来到主人公克莱尔家之后,帮助她做家务并帮她解决了一些难题。
托尼不仅提高了她家的家庭品位并且也提高了她自身的形象,提高了她的自信心,致使克莱尔对他产生了复杂的感情。
这完全不同于一般的对机器人的描写,而是把它上升到一个人工智能的高度——机器人对人类感情的影响。
该故事细致地描述了女主人的内心世界,栩栩如生描绘了某些富于人性化的细节,这种亦幻亦真的故事情节反映出科幻作品的独特魅力,学生也很感兴趣,理解也不困难。

This story, about a human-like robot, illustrates Asimov’s first law for robots:A robot must not injure human beings or allow them to be injured.in this case the injury is not a physical one but a psychological one. In following this law, the robot , which is very human-like, causes the main character, to have some very confusing feelings. 【教学流程设计】环节一。
热身运动,导入主题Enjoy a group of pictures of robots, and discuss their usage. (industrial robots and household robots) The teacher shows the pictures and students guess what they are, what they do and give their opinions.追问:What is special about Asimove’s robot?Do you think it’s possible for a human-like robot to have feelings? And would it be possible for a human to fall in love with robots?(设计意图)因为这是一个关于机器人的故事,所以在导入部分自然地用机器人的话题导入。
在图片部分,展示了工业用机器人和家庭用机器人甚至最近几年出现的仿真机器人伴侣等。
这些机器人引起了学生的极大兴趣,并且在机器人伴侣这个环节,提问学生这样的机器人是否有情感,人类是否会爱上这种仿真机器人伴侣,这与阅读内容相呼应。
环节二。
阅读前两段,回答三个问题1.Why did the couple bring a household robot in their house?2.What attitude did Claire take towards the idea thatthe robot would go to their house? Why?3.How did Claire feel at the sight of Tony? Why?(设计意图)了解故事发生的背景及女主人公初次听到消息和初次看到机器人的态度,这也为后面处理女主人公感情变化这条主线做好铺垫。
Teaching Design Satisfaction Guaranteed一.教学对象分析本课教学对象为高二学生,在英语方面具备一定的基础,对英语学习有比较强的欲望和兴趣,智力发展趋于成熟,他们已逐渐形成用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力。
根据《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》“建立新的外语教育教学理念……建立多元、开放的英语课程评价……”的精神,采用活动教学法实施课堂教学,关注学生语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等素养的培养。
因此本课教学的重点之一是培养学生如何用英语思维和表达的习惯,使学生学会把语言学习与现实生活和兴趣结合起来,提高实际运用语言的能力。
通过任务型的课堂活动和学习,使学生能主动参与到课堂活动中来,成为课堂的主体,提高自主学习和合作学习的能力。
二.教材内容分析本单元的话题是机器人,文学作品中的机器人以及科幻小说作者——阿西莫夫。
当我们谈起机器人的时候,人们多会想到是科幻小说,童话故事,卡通故事等。
但是机器人已经在我们现实生活中发挥着巨大作用,它们被广泛应用于工农业生产及军事等领域。
许多机器人在家中做繁杂的家务,甚至代替人类从事一些危险的工作。
本单元介绍了不同种类的机器人,本节课是本单元的第二课时,学生在warming up中已经对机器人有所了解了。
但是学生脑中的机器人多停留在小说、电视或者电影当中。
Reading部分是根据科幻小说作家——阿西莫夫的故事改编的。

选修6第二单元第一课时阅读教学设计Satisfaction Guaranteed一、教学课型:阅读课(45分钟)二、教材分析1.教学内容:Reading: Satisfaction Guaranteed.2.教材处理:课文是Isaac Asimov写于1951的科幻小说Satisfaction Guaranteed。
文中描述的机器人Tony是一个除去面无表情外,身材高大,相貌英俊,他来到Claire 家,帮助她做家务,为她排忧解难,不但使她的家变得有更有品味,同时也帮助Claire克服心理上的障碍,重塑自身形象。

文章讲述了机器人托尼细心照顾帮助女主人克莱尔,使她克服心理上的障碍,重塑自身形象,而克莱尔也因此对他产生了感情上的依恋。
文章结构很清晰,总体上可以分为托尼来克莱尔家之前,在她家期间,以及离开她家之后三个部分。
重点部分在中间,描述托尼如何帮助克莱尔以及克莱尔对他感情的变化过程。
这个变化过程以时间为主线。
文章叙述克莱尔从排斥托尼到信任他再到依恋他的过程运用了很多形容词和动词描绘她内心的变化。

反思:首先我自己看错时间了,导致阅读时间和讨论时间被我省略了,直接过度到输出的过程。
第二,我对同学们过于放松,过于高估他们的自觉性,没有监督他们读书到位,以为他们在课前都阅读好了,那情景剧才演得出来。
第三,情景剧我也没有叫他们排练过,导致现场有点乱,我以为这样才有真实感,才可以看出他们需要改进的地方。
第四,对于布置个别学生对小组表演进行评论,他们也不愿意,我以为他们会准备好,可是他们现场直接耍赖,我应该提前给他们一些评论的相关资料用语句子给他们背诵。
最后,对于表扬学生,我可以课后在个别辅导他们再鼓励表扬他们,效果会更好,这也可能跟我个人有关,个人不太擅长表扬人。
