The Lion and the Mouse
(1)A lion was awakened from sleep by a mouse running over his face. 狮子睡着了,有只老鼠跳到了他身上。

(2)Rising up angrily, he caught him and was about to kill him, when the Mouse entreated, saying: "If you would only spare my life, I would be sure to repay your kindness." 狮子猛然站起来,把他抓住,准备吃掉。

老鼠请求饶命,并说如果保住性命,必将报恩
(3)The Lion laughed and let him go. 狮子轻蔑地笑了笑,便把他放走了。

(4) It happened shortly after this that the Lion was caught by some hunters, who bound him by strong ropes to the ground. 不久,狮子真的被老鼠救了性命。

原来狮子被一个猎人抓获,并用绳索把他捆在一棵树上。

(5)The mouse, recognizing his roar, came and gnawed [na:d] the rope with his teeth and set him free,老鼠听到了他的哀嚎,走过去咬断绳索,放走了狮子, exclaiming:"You ridiculed the idea of my ever being able to help you, expecting to receive from me any repayment of your favor; 并说:“你当时嘲笑我,不相信能得到我的报答,now you know that it is possible for even a mouse to con benefits on a Lion."现在可清楚了,老鼠也能报恩。


这故事说明,时运交替变更,强者也会有需要弱者的时候。

身居高位不要看不起弱者,身处低位也要懂得报恩。

raise
raise是及物动词。

1. raise意为“筹集,招募”。

如:
Our school raised some money for the poor villagers yesterday.
昨天我校给贫困村民进行了募捐。

2. raise意为“举起,使升高”。

如:
Please raise your hand if you have some questions. 如果你有问题,请举手。

3. raise还可表示“抚养”。

如:
My mother raised two children.
我母亲养育了两个孩子。

句型
1、It happened that…是英语中一个很有用的句式,其意为“碰巧……”。

句首的it 可视为形式主语。

如:
It happened that her parents were both out. 有时刚好她父母会同时不在家。

类似的结构还有:it chanced that…。

如:
It chanced that the man was a doctor. 那男人碰巧是位医生。

2、动词时态的句子结构及关键词:
一般现在时:
句子结构: 肯定句主语+be (am, is, are ) + 其他
否定句主语+be not +其他
疑问句Be+主语+其他
或: 肯定句主语+动词原型+其他( 第三人称单数作主语动词要加"s" )
否定句主语+don't+动词原型+其他(第三人称单数作主语don't改为doesn't)
疑问句DO+主语+动词原型+其他(第三人称单数作主语do改为doess)
关键词: sometimes, often, usually, always, every day, on Sunday

注:在时间壮语从句,条件壮语从句中,常用一般现在时表示将来时,这时一般从
句用一般现在时,主句用将来时
现在进行时:

疑问句Be +主语+动词的现在分词+其他

(will 可改为be going to ,当主语是第一人称时will可用shall)

一段时间+ago如:ten years ago, five hours ago, on January 1st,2004, in the 1980s等.

过去进行时:
句子结构: 肯定句主语+was/were+动词的现在分词+其他
否定句主语+was/were not +动词的现在分词+其他
疑问句Was/Were + 主语+ 动词的现在分词+其他
关键词:具体时间+过去的时间壮语如:at ten o'clock yesterday morning, at this time last Sunday等.
现在完成时:
句子结构:肯定句主语+have/has+动词的过去分词+其他(第三人称单数用has) 否定句主语+have/has not+动词的过去分词+其他
