Teaching Aims
1. Help students understand what body language is.
2. Organize students to talk about some forms of body language and convey their meanings.
3. Help students learn to use the reading strategies to choose a heading for each paragraph.
4. Learn to express oneself with body language.
5. Develop the students’ communication skills

1. Master words, phrases and useful expressions describing body languages.

Teaching Methods
1. Individual work, pair work or group work to make every student participate in class.
2. Reading activity to help the students have a good understanding of the reading material.

Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Pre-Reading
1. Appreciate some pictures and ask students several questions.
2. In pairs, talk about the various gestures, facial expressions and body movements that people often use to communicate your attitudes and feelings.
3. V ocabulary Study
Focus on new words and help students associate the new words with the explanations, pictures or contexts.
Step 2 While-Reading
Task 1 fast reading
1.Read the text quickly and make a prediction.
2. Learn the reading strategies and read para.1 together to choose a better heading.
3. Group work:
Divide students into groups of six and put the rest text into six parts. Each student read a part of the text in the group, underline 3-5 of the most important words. Think of a heading to summarize the main idea. Then share the messages with each other.
Task2 Careful reading
4. Complete some exercises and discuss the possible answers in group, then check them in class.
5. Read the text carefully and finish the table in groups. Meanwhile, find out some
6. Explain some useful expressions and difficult sentences. Read out the sentences and divide the sentences into meaningful groups.
Step 3 Post - Reading

EX2. Choose one word form the text to complete the sentence in its proper form. Step 5 Homework
1. Discuss the differences and similarities between body language and spoken language in groups of six.
2. Why do you think we need to study body language? Read the text and summarize the importance of body language.
3. Project Work
From the text, we know that body language has different meanings in different situation. Suppose you want to make a project work in your group, discuss the below themes and choose one as your project-making topic.
