1. get around / about:四处走动;活动,〔消息〕四处传开。

2. assist:帮助;援助;常用的短语有:
assist sb. in doing sth. assist in doing… assist sb. with sth.

3. sympathy:同情〔心〕; 同感 常用的短语:have / feel sympathy for / with sb.
in / with sympathy; be in sympathy with…..:赞同,与……一致。
They need recognition; more than sympathy and help.

He has no sympathy for them in their suffering.
He patted me on the shoulder in sympathy.

4. adjust:调整,适应;常用短语:adjust to sth:适应于……;

注意区分adjust 和adapt的区别:adjust侧重适应微调,侧重对事物的物理因素的调整;而adapt侧重适应大变化多方位全面的心理与社会的调整。

5. participate:参加;参与;常与in 连用,相当于:take part in; 还可以表示:分享;分担
