餐桌礼仪英文作文范文
When sitting at the table, always remember to place
your napkin on your lap. It's a simple act that shows
respect for the meal and your fellow diners.
Don't reach over someone else's plate to grab something.
It's just plain rude and can make the other person feel
uncomfortable.
Chew with your mouth closed. No one wants to see or
hear your food being mashed up.
If you need to leave the table for any reason, simply
say "excuse me" and quietly leave. There's no need to make
a big production out of it.
When passing food, always pass to the right. It's a
small gesture that keeps things moving smoothly at the
table.
If you need to use your phone, excuse yourself from the
table and go to another room. It's impolite to be glued to
your device while others are trying to enjoy a meal.
When finished with your meal, place your utensils at
the 4 o'clock position on your plate. It's a signal to the
server that you are done.
If you need to cough or sneeze, turn your head away
from the table and cover your mouth and nose with a napkin.
No one wants to see or hear that.
When engaging in conversation, be sure to listen as
much as you speak. It's important to show interest in what
others have to say.
Finally, always thank the host or hostess for the meal.
It's a simple act of gratitude that goes a long way.
