fall over 摔倒;倒下

e.g. Don't run too fast, or you might fall over.

别跑太快,要不你会摔跤的。

fall over something 被某物绊倒

e.g. Tommy fell over the dog and broke his front teeth.

Tommy被那只狗绊了一跤,磕断了门牙。

2) Scientists say there are now fewer than 2,000 pandas living in the forests.

living in the forests是一个现在分词短语,用做定语,修饰pandas。

e.g. the girls singing under the tree 树下唱歌的女孩

3) The babies often die from illness.

die v. “死, 去世”,表示生命的结束,是不及物动词,强调的是瞬间动作,不能与表示一段时间的状语连用。die可以用于进行时态,be dying意为"奄奄一息的;濒死的"。如:

与die常见的搭配:

die of / from意为“死于…”,前者一般指由于疾病、情感、衰老等自身原因引起的死亡;后者一般指环境(主要指事故等方面的外部原因)造成的死亡。如:

The man died of cancer.

这个男人死于癌症。

The Polish president died from air crash.

波兰总统死于飞机失事。 die out 灭绝

Many kinds of animals have died out.

许多种动物已经灭绝了。

death n. 死亡 dead adj. 死的

I was surprised by his death.

他的死让我感到惊讶。

The flower has been dead for two days.

这株花已经死了两天了。
