【教材依据】 本节教学设计来自于冀教版第四册书第二单元Plant a plant!第8课《Why Are Plants Important?》.本单元围绕植物和园艺这一话题展开教学。课本先从Li Ming ,Wang Mei 和工人植树开始，要求学生了解植树的常用语和植树的作用，接着详细介绍了植物的重要性，园艺，打理花园，奇异的植物和丹尼自己种植的植物。本课是本单元的第二课，在本单元起着承上启下的关键作用！并且也为本册书第8 单元Save Our World环境保护主题奠定了坚实的学习基础！更是我们中考练习环保话题写作的上好素材！
一、设计思路
1、指导思想。本节课是继介绍植树的步骤后教材安排学习研究的第二个内容：植物的重要性。在设计本课教学时注重面向全体学生，关注语言学习者的不同特点和个人差异，主要落实“1.听：在听录音时有目的地获取所需关键信息。（clean;
ways & without） 2.读：①泛读：快速浏览文章，根据Let’s Do It!No.1习题中提供的9个句子迅速找出文章中提到的植物的重要性相关语句！②精读：根据Let’s Do It! No.1中提供的9个有关于介绍植物重要性的语句对植物的重要性从4个方面（Food or medicine; Shelter; Clothing and school things&
Environment）做个归类，从而完成Let’s Do It! No.3的习题。③细读：仔细阅读对话内容，根据提供的单词完成介绍植物重要性的短片，完成Let’s Do It!
No.2的习题.3.说：根据教师所提供的思维导图及多媒体展示的图片，学生能用自己话阐述植物的重要性。4.写：通过本课的学习，要求学生课后写一篇介绍植物重要性的文章作为练笔。从语言技能听，说，读，写四个方面全面突破理解植物的重要性。根据思维导图及多媒体图片，直观形象的向学生归纳总结展示植物在食品，药材；居所；衣物，学校物品及环境四个方面的用途，进而强化学生对于植物重要性的深层次记忆及理解的课程标准要求。从教材结构看，本节课是第7课Planting Trees的延伸，又为本册书第8单元Save Our World环境保护主题奠定了坚实的学习基础，具有承上启下的关键作用，也为中考练习环保话题写作提供了极好的素材！本节课安排在“Planting Trees”之后学习，使知识更系统，降低了学习难度，一方面，通过本节课的学习，加深了学生对植物重要性的认识和理解，使学生掌握植物在不同的方面对生活的影响，为接下来的园艺话题，打理花园话题及自然界存在的奇异的植物埋下伏笔。另一方面培养学生听，说，读，写的能力，并借助呈现思维导图指导学生学会用自己的话来介绍植物的重要性，提高学生的英语口语表达能力。另外根据新课程标准的基本理念：面向全体学生，关注语言学习者的不同特点和个人差异。关注学生的英语学习情况，全班59人，这一班学生是我从七年一手带上来的，这个班学生整体素质高，学习习惯好，经过近一年半的训练绝大多数学生已经很熟悉也很习惯我的上课流程及方式，并且能很好的与老师配合，在课堂上对于这些孩子多提供口语交际的机会，采用一对一或是一对多帮扶的方式在每堂课上说的环节，提供思维导图并指导孩子用自己的话去复述课文。经过一年半时间的实践，借助思维导图简明的呈现课文核心内容，对于孩子们理解记忆文章提供了高效的记忆空间，越来越多的孩子也都能用自己的话复述文章了。在此也实现了新课程标准课程基本理念，强调学习过程，重视语言学习的实践性和应用性。但是也有近10名左右的学生由于小学基础薄弱，学习劲头不足等原因，在部分环节有困难，针对此现象，在各个环节都要有所调整和照顾，遇到容易的问题最大限度上鼓励这些孩子回答，帮助他们树立学好英语的信心，调动这部分学生的学习英语的积极性。。

Lesson 9 Gardening with Mary
本单元围绕“植树”这个话题，学习和了解植树的重要性及如何栽树。课文“The Great Green Wall”讲述了森林对人类的重大作用。通过学习课文和对话，进一步复习、归纳了被动语态的用法，重点学习了含有情态动词的被动语态的构成，讲述了英语中长、宽、高的表示方法，学习了一些常用词汇和日常交际用语及重点句式：The more, the better；教会了我们如何书写notice.
