Pressure is always there in some form, whetherin the

workplace or in our personal lives. If you allowit to

control your performance in a negative way, then it bees

stress. I would like to examine thecause of stress, which

has led to many peoplestaying off job or school, and offer

possible solutions as follows.

Firstly, do not overestimate your abilities. It is not

unmon that many arrogantpeople first overrate themselves

before starting a task, then they stay off the job after

havingfound it extremely difficult. These people are

pessimistic ones. Actually if they knew who theyare they

would not place themselves in this plight. Take me for

example, I am an architectworking for a construction pany.

Whenever I am given an assignment, I would study itfor a

couple of days. If it is over my head I would remend

another more capablecolleague to plete it. This is the way

I am and consequently and more importantly, I neverfeel

stressful at work..

Now let’s turn to academic issue. Everyone knows,

stress ours when you are beingasked to do something you are

not sure whether you can do. Nowadays, a great deal

ofstudents’ fears grow dramatically before the arrival of

a big exam as a consequence of notbeing well prepared for it. Some of them who have flunked many times would rather

drop out ofschool than suffer from humiliations and shame.

I experienced tough times when I was afreshman in college.

Later I discovered that sufficient preparation could

provide me withconfidence when mencing exams. Therefore, I

stopped attending all social activities aweek before the

exam and was focused on notes taken in class. For this

reason, I enjoyed myschool life ever after.

After all, we can never escape from the reality of

every existence. To stay off job or schoolis the wrong

attitude of which cowards deserve.

Nowadays, the hazy weather frequently appears in our

country. It has not only done harm to people’s health, but

also affected the public transportation. Terrible aidents

happen every now and then, some highways have to be shut

down because of the low visibility.

Obviously, air pollution is the main factor that has

resulted in the frequency of hazy weather. At the same time,

smoke from burning coal and all kinds of dust are also

important factors. Besides, exhaust emission from cars and

buses has made the situation even worse.

So proper measures should be adopted to deal with the

serious problem. To students, opportunities for outdoor

sports activities should be decreased, washing faces and

hands with running water after each outing is also important, and do not forget to wear a good-quality mask to

protect yourself while going out.

I hope we will regain a fresh, clean and bright world

soon.

Suess is achieved by those who try and keep trying with

a positive mental attitude becausenothing on earth can help

those with a negative mental attitude. In general,

suessfulpersons are opportunity-minded rather than

difficulty-minded. That is to say, the pessimistsees

difficulty in every opportunity; the optimist sees

opportunity in every difficulty.

Any fact facing us is often not as important as our

attitude toward it, for that can determineour suess or

failure. The pessimist would visualize penalties of failure

whereas the optimistwould visualize the rewards of suess.

It might be true sometimes that people tried hard half-way

and failed miserably, from which a lesson is learned that

they should not have tried at all inthe first place. Thus,

after one failure, they are disappointed and discouraged,

refusing tobelieve that the road to suess is under

construction. Since pessimists are afraid to fail, theyare

not likely to experience the joys of suess. More often than

not, this wrong mentalattitude, or rather the fear of

striking out, may hold them back. It is certainly not the optimist's attitude toward

suess--always being ready as anopportunity es. People with

the right mental attitude are never scared by going too

far,and they are convinced that suess lies just beyond.

True enough, it is not that optimistsbee winners without

encountering real problems, but that they are willing to do

do whatlosers are not willing to do. In other words,

optimists choose to step forward, as if it wereimpossible

to fail; but pessimists are always in the same place.

Therefore, both attitudes tell asuess and a failure apart.

In all likelihood, suess is like the child of optimism.

It pays to assume that opportunity may be in the middle

of difficulty, or at least this is whatthe optimist is

inclined to believe. Indeed, suess of life depends upon
