Topic: Some people believe that children should learn to how to compete

in their early years while others think that children should be taught to

cooperate.

Nowhere in the world has the issue of competition and cooperation been so much debated as

in our society. Nowadays, the competition is more and more furious between different groups, but

many people think that parents teach competition to children that it will be bad for their growth,

let them learn how to cooperate that is the most important. Above point is certainly true; this essay

will outline three reasons.

The main reason is that children' intellect is not enough capable to analyze right and wrong

competition. If children do not have correct teaching, the competition easily leads children to a

wrong way. For instance, children usually pay attention to match their clothing and toys; in fact, it

is really worth competing thing that their study is being ignored.

Another reason is that if children work together, they could easily find out and supply their

gaps. Because of limit of age, in order to children's knowledge is limited so that they have the

different strongpoint. When they work together, they can learn the merit from others, and quickly

correct their mistakes.

Last but not the least reason is the cooperation means common progress. A people's ability is

limited, but group's power is unlimited. Lots of things are really difficult to complete by personal

power. Nevertheless, people work together to solve problems that will become really easy and

simple. Thus, it is important to let children get to know signification of cooperation.

In conclusion, children ought to learn signification of cooperation and how to work together,

in order to their better future.

I hold the opinion that children should learn to compete. As we all know, success is about

competition learn is to compete at all early age will help children adapt to real world situations

and deal with the challenges later on.

For example, they will competer in the football match, swim, race and try to win. To succeed is

the ultimate goal of any effort.

As an old saying goes, competition and cooperation are twin brothers. It is difficult to say which

one is more important. In modern society, students have to study hard for more chances to enter

good schools, parents spur us to be more outstanding than others. Everyone is eager for success

and a good life. However, students also need to cooperate with others because we will not study

alone, work alone, or even spend our free time alone. If we don’t know how to cooperate with our

classmates, our family members or other people, then we will not live happily. In a word, both

competition and cooperation are common elements in our life and we'd better make good use of

them.

In contemporary society, our world is becoming an intricate matrix of interdependent

relationships, in which all individuals must depend on many others for their survival. Meanwhile,

when it comes to whether children should acquire the ability to compete or cooperate, people hold

different views. I fundamentally agree with the notion that children must know how to compete

when they grow up and enter society. This point of view is elaborated below.

It is manifest that, by learning to compete with other individuals, children can achieve more

success in the future. The cases of this point of view are diverse. In the first place, competition is

the essential driving force of each individual. Therefore, desire for excellence enhances our

individuals’ competitive impulse – that is to say, the heavier the pressure of competition, the

greater the subsequent improvement a child can make. Furthermore, competition could enable him

or her to find satisfactory jobs immediately upon graduation. More precisely, a strong sense of

competition makes children more competent for certain jobs.

On the other hand, I concede the notion that cooperation also plays a vital role in individuals’

success. Indeed, children surely learn efficiently with their peers for the simple reason that

learning is not a solitary activity but one that requires collaboration among people. Consequently,

by learning to cooperate and communicate with other people, learners of all ages will benefit if

they work frequently in groups. Yet, it is competition that is the major factor in children’s

education because our world is full of competitions.

Finally, we may conclude that colleges, universities and other educational institutions should

enhance the sense of competition of students, since this practice is the best interest of individuals
