对于产业来说,3月总有大事发生,往往决定一年的大势。

2018年3月,游戏版号全面暂停,直至年末重新放开,结果引发了游戏产业全年震荡。
今年3月初,网易开启了局部震荡和调整模式,对包括电商在内的非游戏业务进行评估,其游戏业务在全公司的地位隐性提升。
3月中旬,腾讯一口气发布《故宫:口袋宫匠》等3款游戏应用价值探索产品,预示其将在功能游戏这个看似小众的方向上,深挖精品、大众的可能。
3月最后一天,被视为是继腾讯、网易之后,最有希望成为中国游戏第三极的盛大游戏,统一使用盛趣游戏作为公司品牌,并启用全新的品牌标识。
盛大游戏成为历史?其实是升维
全新品牌标识一启动,若干评论即将话题点锁定为:盛大游戏成为历史。
答案或许是否定的,正如上个月20日,轰动一时的盛大游戏并购案尘埃落定那般,其实世纪华通并购的是盛大游戏实际控制主体:盛跃网络,一个对于游戏玩家来极为不熟悉的名称。
而此次品牌更新为盛趣游戏,以及将品牌标识从原盛大游戏的字母G,升维为字母S的3D形态,并赋予了更多内核,或者说盛趣游戏是盛大游戏2.0升级版。
何解?按照盛大游戏的官方解读,立体的字母S可以从不同的角度展现成SQG(或可直解为盛趣的拼音首字母和游戏的英文首字母)。
有意思的是,盛大游戏似乎还抛出了另一个点,即G这个代表游戏,又代表盛大游戏原有标识味道的字母,并不仅仅限于上述2个概念,还可以更加开放,具有更多的发展可能性。
或许,同时也是整个企业文化上的一种升维。
从盛大昔日发轫与《传奇》的那种对游戏热爱与热血,扩大成为对极致和活力文化的追求。
至此,已经可以明显的感觉到这个新标识自带的升维意识,但又不仅于此。
四色=四维?大战略的底气在哪
3月的游戏大事件,往往带有强烈的战略走向宣示意味,而这种宣示,在巨头而言,都来源于底气。
3月间还有一个大事件,为人们所忽略,即26日的春季发布会。
尽管4大订阅服务一出,苹果的市值蒸发了100亿美元。
但很多游戏厂商都盯住了畅玩游戏订阅服务Apple Arcade:苹果要将应用商店里的付费专区升级为类似Xbox金会员的平台服务。
换言之,在索尼、任天堂、微软以游戏主机确立平台霸业后,苹果要深度打通自有产品的各种屏,成为全球第四大游戏主机平台。
同样是进击游戏巅峰,尽管不同维,盛大游戏此次启动新标识,却无巧不成书的和苹果撞车:苹果是4大服务,而新标识则是红蓝绿橙4色。
按其官方解读,红色代表传承,蓝色代表科技,绿色代表健康,橙色代表活力。
而核心是呈现出盛趣游戏对互动体验、科技与文化产业全方位的追求。
题目很大,但并非无的放矢。
在并购案落定之后,估值规模约300亿的盛大游戏,即将注入
市值500亿左右的世纪华通中,仅在量级上市值就足有800亿。
同时,盛大游戏的实力也进入指数级增长状态。
在精品路线上,2019年,盛大游戏将推出延续IP的《龙之谷世界》,深耕偶像领域的《AKB48樱桃湾之夏》,以及二次元物语音乐《命运歌姬》等,都在不同的维度上,挖掘精品游戏的价值。
光从上述游戏的名字和领域上,都可以看到橙色(新文化产业生态圈)的颇多走向。
而在IP发展上,盛大游戏目前累积有《传奇世界》、《龙之谷》、《梦幻国度》、《神无月》、《光明勇士》等50多个IP储备,且大多是游戏圈较为稀缺的超级IP,而计划推出的《辐射避难所Online》、《彩虹岛》等手游,则可视为对优质IP的深度挖潜。
至于全球发行,世纪华通旗下的点点互动,从2018年4月开始,从未缺席过中国发行商出海收入榜前两位而并购落定后,则成为了盛大游戏的最佳应援。
为何是3月?重大游戏战略也叫春
国内和国际游戏巨头都爱在3月发布大战略?或许这并不是一个巧合。
如果说苹果的春季发布会,只是偶遇的话。
那前来偶遇的还有谷歌。
3月20日,谷歌宣布将推出云游戏平台Stadia,玩家们可使用Stadia在家用电脑、笔记本电脑、平板电脑、电视以及智能上游玩3A游戏。
尽管云游戏被微软嘲笑为模仿,也和苹果的游戏订阅生态不同,但打通全面屏的策略却高度一致,只是选择的切入点不同。
国内的腾讯、网易、盛大,国外的谷歌、苹果,为何都在3月做重大战略发布?这个时间节点很关键。
用俗话说是一年之计在于春,但或许对国外大佬并不适用。
但3月作为前一年财报的密集发布期,则可以在去年成就和今年战略上,形成一种映照。
或证明在成功的基础上升维,如盛大;或寓意在挫折后转型,如苹果;或代表游戏研发走向的蜕变,如腾讯;或希望在目前市场覆盖率下,给自己找到新增长点,如谷歌
总而言之、言而总之,在这个时点上,给出的都是自己一年的抉择,不能小、必须大,而且如果不能让人震撼(包括吐槽),,则往往会选择沉默。
结果,在这种标准下,也就巨头们粉墨登场;而且,游戏巨头往往更加容易吸睛与戏精。
当然,也未必都在3月。
如喜欢发布具体产品的科技巨头们,就因为2月有MWC(世界移动通信大会),而集体刷了一波高潮,今年华为、三星们的折叠屏戏码就是最佳例证。
