Is my idea or opinion serve the most people or just myself? Does my knowledge and skills reach a high level? Then, I need to tell myself to analysis this situation from a broader perspective.
What is reflection?
Reflection is a way to reach awareness of how and why things have occurred. (Johns,2002) Reflection means making the familiar unfamiliar, or looking at it within fresh eyes.(Abrandt Dahlgren et al., 2004) Reflection can help to affirm as well as to correct actions. (Howatson-J, 2010) Reflection in Chinese culture: “Look before you leap” means you need to think it from different perspectives before doing it. (Chinese ancient people)
It can:
1.provides both theory and process to enable this making and remaking of knowledge to happen. 2.provides a framework that enable practitioners to manage issues more effectively. 3.provides a way of “standing back” and seeing the issues from a different perspective. (Fook and Gardner, 2007)

Transforming my practice
Empowerment: means give power to others, as well as receiving power from them in return, it also involves helping individuals to help themselves. Empowerment can be seen as part of our emphasis on critically reflective practice, in the sense that uncritical, mindless practice based on habit and routine will fail to address the significant personal, social and political obstacles to progress that block the way of people gaining greater control over their lives. (Thompson & Thompson, 2008)
What is reflection?
Reflection means throw back of thoughts and memories, in cognitive acts such as thinking, contemplation, meditation and any other form of attentive consideration, in order to make sense of them, and to make contextually appropriate changes if they are required. (Taylor, 2000 cited in Taylor, 2010) Reflection is a way in which professionals can bridge the theory-practice gap, based on the potential of reflection to uncover knowledge in and on action. (Schon,1983)
