Monday,July 15th

I arrived in Penang in Malaysia this morning with

my family. It was sunny and hot, so we decided to

go to the beach near our hotel. My sister and I

tried paragliding. I felt like I was a bird. It was

so exciting! For lunch, we had something very

special----Malaysian yellow noodles. They were delicious!

In the afternoon, we rode bicycles to Georgetown.

There are a lot of new buildings now, but many of

the old buildings are still there. In Weld Quay, a

really old place in Georgetown, we saw the houses of

the Chinese traders from 100 years ago. I wonder

what life was like here in the past. I really

enjoyed walking around the town.

Tuesday,July 16th

What a different a day makes! My father and mother decided

to go to Penang Hill today. We wanted to walk up to the top,

but then it started raining a little so we decided to take

the train. We waited over an hour for the train because

there were too many people. When we got to the top, it was

raining really hard. We didn’t have an umbrella so we were

wet and cold. It was terrible! And because of the bad

weather, we couldn’t see anything below. My father didn’t bring enough money, so we only had one bowl of rice and some

fish. The food tasted great because I was so hungry.

What Do High School Students Do in Their Free Time?

Last month we asked our students about their free time

activities. Our questions were about exercise, use of the

Internet and watching TV. Here are the results.

We found that only fifteen percent of our students exercise

every day. Forty-five percent exercise four to six times a

week. Twenty percent exercise only one to three times a week.

And twenty percent do not exercise at all.

We all know that many students often go online, but we were

surprised that ninety percent of them use the Internet every

day. The other ten percent use it at least three or four

times a week. Most students use it for fun and not for

homework.

The answer to our questions about watching television were

also two percent of the students watch TV one to three

times a percent watch TV four to six times a week. And

eighty-five percent watch TV every day! Although many

students like to watch sports,games shows are the most

popular.

It is good to relax by using the Internet or watching game

shows,but we think the best way to relax is through is

healthy for the mind and the such as playing sports is fun,

and you can spend time with your friends and family as you

play remember, “old habits die hard”.So start exercising

before it’s too late! Unit 3 I’m more outgoing than my sister.

quieter and more serious than most kids. That’s why I like

reading books and I study harder in class. My best friend

Yuan Li is quiet too, so we enjoy studying together. I’m

shy so it’s not easy for me to make friends. But I think

friends are like books---you don’t need a lot of them as

long as they’re good.

Huang Lei: It’s not necessary to be the same. My best

friend Larry is quite different from me. He is taller and

more outgoing than me. We both like sports, but he plays

tennis better, so he always , Larry often helps to bring out

the best in I’m getting better at tennis. Larry is much

less hard-working,

always get better grades than he does, so maybe I should

help him more.

Mary Smith: I don’t really care if my friends are the same

as me or favorite saying is, “A true friend reaches for

your hand and touches your heart.” My best friend Carol is

really kind and very funny. In fact, she’s funnier than

anyone I know. I broke my arm last year but she made me

laugh and feel better. We can talk about and share

everything. I know she cares about me because she’s always

there to listen.

七年级上册由预备篇（三个单元）和正式篇（十二个单元）两部分组成。每个单元分为AB二部分。其中包括Section A、Section B和Self Check。

下面我分别对每单元进行下教材分析

预备篇是为了使没有英语学习基础的学生更好地使用本套教材而编写的。它的主要内容为26个英文字母和最基本的英语日常用语。

Starter Unit1 Good morning!教材分析

本单元要求学生掌握英文字母A — H，能认读其印刷体和手写体字母的大小写等四种形式。书写（大写和小写，笔顺，笔画）基本合乎要求。能看,听，说本单元所列的日常交际用语，重点学会打招呼，并做到语音语调正确。注意一些字母及日常交际用语的发音，万事开头难，首先利用这个单元培养学生们对英语的兴趣，因为兴趣是最好的老师。

Starter Unit2 What’s this in English教材分析

本单元的教学内容为：学习letters（Ii —Rr）10个字母；学习words（map, orange,

jacket, key, pen, ruler, quilt）等7个表示事物的单词；本单元的核心教学内容是“认物”。用英语确认周围的常见事物，比较符合英语初学者的实际情况。通过本单元教学，使学生运用所学句型，去熟悉周围事物的名称；教学生学会在实际生活中如何确认事物。通过辨认物体，学生学到一些生词，并巩固所学句型。所以教师要尽量使学生对课文中出现的句型能够熟练上口。这样，学生才能顺利开展比较灵活的对话。教师可以用手势，表情，动作等示意、帮助学生听懂课堂教学内容，但在实际操作中应尽量避免“明知故问”的倾向，应该采用应用性原则；如：遮盖物品、显露局部、辨认物体、完形识别、图形辨认等方法。目标在学生学习过程中的作用至关重要，教师要帮助他们建立起一个切合自己实际的目标，通过渐进的学习以及一点一滴的进步，使他们逐步建立起成功感。成功越多，自信心就越强。

八年级上学期英语教学工作计划

新的学期开始了，本学期我担任八年级1班2班英语教学工作。为了顺利完成教育教学任务,在教学中贯彻新目标教学的要求,我将结合学校工作计划要求，规范常规教学，提高教学质量。

一、指导思想

注重素质教育，强调从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发，倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径，发展学生的综合语言运用能力，使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度、主动思维和大胆实践、提高跨文化意识和形成自主学习能力的过程。为学生的充分发展创造条件，为继续学习打下基础。

二、学生基本情况分析：

学生虽经一年的英语教学，对英语有了一定的领会，但因本地属落后地区，学生接受能力较差，在听、说、读、写各个方面的基础都很薄弱。另外，学生在情感态度,学习策略方面还存在诸多需要进一步解决的问题。例如：很多学生不能明确学习英语的目的，没有真正认识到学习英语的目的在于交流；有些同学在学习中缺乏小组合作意识；有些同学任然不敢开口，或者是声音太小。通过初中一年的英语学习,很多学生已经能听懂有关熟悉话题的语段和简短的故事,能与教师或同学就熟悉的话题交换信息。总的说来，本班的英语教学具有挑战性，需要耗费不少的时间和精力。

三、教材分析

人教版《新目标英语》八年级（上册），本套八年级教材共分十个单元，每

单元分SectionA和SectionB以及Self-check三部分。

SectionA:1a呈现本单元的重点单词，语法结构与功能；1b呈现任务型听力练习；1c结对练习核心对话；2a,2b是多种听力练习；2c呈现不同的任务。GrammarFocus呈现语法功能重点；3a-3c提供多种课堂活动。

SectionB:1a词会扩展；1b新旧知识综合运用，同时在原有基础上有所扩展；2a,2b为听力练习；3a-4提供各类练习形式，随着所学内容的加深，逐步扩展成阅读和写作练习。4为创造性活用所学知识提供各类课堂活动。
