Hello, we are students from Thailand, and we want to save
the elephants. The elephant is one of the symbols of Thailand.
Our first flag had a white elephant. It is a symbol of good luck.
Elephants are intelligent animals. They can play football or
play music. They can also draw very well. People say that
"elephants never forget things". Elephants can walk for long
time and never get lost. They can also remember where food
and water exist. This has helped them to survive.
But the elephants are in great danger. People cut down many
trees, so the elephants gradually lost their homes. People also
kill the elephants for their tusks. There are now only about
3,000 elephants (previously more than 100,000). We must save
the trees and do not buy things made of ivory. Remember that
March 13th is Elephant Day in Thailand.
