I‟m so honored and pleasure to have the chance to be here sharing my lesson with you.The teaching material I choose to illustrate is taken from the Advance with English, Students‟ Book 2, Unit 1, Welcome to the unit part. My teaching plan will include 5 parts: the analysis of teaching material, teaching aims, the important and difficult points, teaching methods and teaching procedure.Part 1 Analysis of teaching materialIn this part, there are four picturesque, which all show us unexplained things. Ss are expected to have a certain degree understanding of the pictures and develop the ability of reading pictures by their own words.As we all know, welcome to the unit is the beginning part of the unit. As an introduction part, it is important for students to know the topic of the unit. Therefore, this part is a fundamental component of this unit. If Ss can master it well, it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of the unit.Part 2 Teaching aimsThrough the study of this part,1) Ss can understand those sentences besides each picture and understand the pictures well;2)Ss can gain the topic of the unit and think out other examples of unexplained things.3) Ss can develop communicative ability through group or paired discussion.4) Arouse Ss‟ interest in mysterious or unexplained phenomena;Part 3 Teaching methodsI will use the following methods to achieve my teaching aims:1)Show students some pictures by multimedia2)Discuss in pair or in groupsAt the same time, make use of the modern electricity teaching equipments, and all kinds of teaching means. It can mobilize the Ss‟ enthusiasm and creativity in learning English.Part 4 Teaching procedureIn order to realize the teaching procedure properly and efficiently, under the principle of … students centered‟, I divide the teaching procedure into 6 steps.Step 1 Lead-inAsk Ss to focus on the title of the unit, …tales of the unexplained‟, then ask students to look at four pictures carefully. The pictures are presented by power point without any interpretation.Purpose: To arouse Ss‟ interest in the unit‟s topicStep 2 explaining each pictureFirst, ask several students to guess what the first picture shows.Second, give students some keywords, like”spaceship”, “satellite ”, “weather balloon ”Third, ask students to discuss the picture‟s content and then show the explanatory sentences of the picture to lead to the concept of UFO.Fourth, explain the other three pictures with the same methods.Step 3 answer the questionsHave students answer the questions following the picturesque in the book and give brief introduction of unexplained things in the world.Step 4 homeworkHave Ss to preview the reading part .Purpose: Homework is so important and necessary for Ss to master the knowledge they learned after class.
