The Best Way to Fight against Public Smoking

Nowadays, public smiling has become a matter of concern. Many passersby are reluctant to

inhale the smoke from the smokers around them. The governments had tried many ways to ban

smoking in public, but the result was not satisfying. A new citywide smoking ban has been

released recently in Beijing. It is said that people could not smoke at public places like venues,

medical facilities, schools, cultural heritages sites and etc.

I fully agree with this regulation because I think it is the most evvective way to fight against

smoking now in China. First of all, banning smoking in public protects the health of nonsmokers.

As everyone knows, smoking is harmful to one’s health. It causes many diseases such as lung

cancer. Smokers, of course, should take the full responsibility for their voluntary choice. However,

it is not fair for nonsmokers when they have to bear the smell of smoke and later the diseases

caused by others’ smoking. Another benefit is that it deters kids from becoming smokers. These

regulations are basically sending a message that smoking in public places is no longer socially

acceptable, and it decreases the appeal of smoking to adolescents. Kids’ perceptions of how many

people are smoking are a major factor in whether they decide to smoke.

In my view, the smoking ban will be the best method to reduce smoking.

Shopping accoding to the following outline (given in Chinese). Your composition should be no

less than 120 words. Remember to write your composition on the Answer Sheet I clearly and

neatly .

Online Shopping

With the development of technology, online shopping has become popular in people’s daily

life. As many of us might have witnessed, more people are buying products through the Internet.

And to facilitate online purchase stores provide pictures of their products together with other

illustrations on the websites. Besides, online products rang from small items such as clothes and

books to large ones like computers. Undoubtedly, online shopping has brought us many conveniences. Yet, its potential dangers

to the consumer could not be ignored. One possible risk is that consumers might not get the exact

product they want because the information provided might not be enough or reliable. For a simple

example, a consumer who wants to buy a pair of shoes might end up getting a pair with desired

style but unfit sizes. After all, people have to try themselves when buying clothes or shoes.

Moreover, if consumers do not pay attention to the credibility of online stores, they might get

cheated.

Therefore, consumers should firstly be aware of the credibility of an online store. Secondly,

people should not jump on the bandwagon because not all online shopping brings about

convenience. Instead, they have to make their own judgment as to the kind of products that could

be bought online. Thus, they could avoid possible trouble causing by inadequate or inaccurate

information provided by an online store.
