【要点解析】
1. When I first arrived on this island, I had nothing.当我第一次登上这个岛时,我什么也没有。
arrive意为到达,是不及物动词,后面不能直接跟宾语。通常与in或at连用。在此,“arrive on”有 “到达并登上”的含义,表示到达并登上地势相对较高的地方,如乘船登上岛屿,海岸等。
