Step 1. Free-talk
与学生讨论喜爱的电视节目,导入生词。
(1) Do you often watch TV?
(2) What is your favourite TV programme?
(3) What channel do you like best?
(4) What do you use to change the channel?
(5) Do you like playing online computer games?
经过几组交流之后,将生词依次写在黑板上:programme, channel, remote control, online. 带领学生朗读生词,掌握单词的发音和中文释义。
Step 2. Welcome to the unit
1. Presentation
(1) 教师说:Simon’s cousin,Annie,wants to learn about the different parts of a computer.Please tell
her the names of different parts. Turn to page 35 and write the correct answers in the boxes in Part
A.让学生完成A部分练习,然后逐个核对答案。
(2) 可适当扩充一些电脑其他部件的英语名称,如:显示器monitor, 光驱CD-ROM driver, 硬盘hard disk,U盘flash driver/USB driver, 内存memory, 扬声器speaker等。
(3) 教师说:Computers are useful in our daily lives and they’re changed the world. What do you
usually use your computer for? How often do you use your computer for this?让学生谈谈自己使用电脑的主要用途和使用频率。在黑板上写下重点词组:do word processing, search for
information, send and receive emails等,朗读并掌握意思。
2. Practice
(1) 向学生介绍B部分的情境,让学生听录音并回答问题。教师说:Simon is good at computers.
Now Daniel is asking him questions, Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
What does Simon use his computer for? (To search for information.)
How often does he use his computer for this? (Almost every day.)
把学生分成两大组,分角色朗读B部分的对话,并用课本提供的六个用途进行替换,以操2 练句型sb uses a computer to do sth。 教师说:Let’s make similar conversations using the ideas in
the box.
(2) 学生两人一组,模仿B部分的对话,新编对话进行练习。鼓励学生说出更多的电脑用途。

Step3. Comic strip
1. Presentation
(1)教师说:Eddie and Hobo also like watching TV. Let’s watch a video and see what they’re
talking about.引出Eddie 和Hobo的对话。
(2)让学生回答问题:
What do Eddie and Hobo think the computer look like ?
Do they know anything about computers?
What do they think the mouse is?
What do they want to use the mouse to do?
2. Practice
(1) 播放录音,让全体学生跟读,模范语音语调:Now please repeat after the tape. Pay attention
to your pronunciation and intonation.
(2) 对学生说:Now work in pairs. One will play the role of Eddie and the other Hobo. Read the
conversation.让学生两人一组,分角色朗读对话,鼓励学生展开想象,丰富对话内容。
(3) 准备三分钟后,选择几组不同层次的学生上台表演:Now it’s your turn to act out the
conversation.
(4) 补充练习:短文填空。
Eddie and Hobo know _______about compures.Hobo thinks the computer _____ _____a

Step4. Homework
