Occupy v.(1)占有,占领e.g.Soccer occupies most of my leisure hours.足球占去了我大部分空余时间。

比较:social,sociable adj.(1)social社会的,社交的,群居的e.g. Social workers reported that 85 percent of the youths were out of work in that city.社会工作者报道说在那城里85%的年轻人失业。

5.be made up of 由…组成,构成e.g. This medical team was made up of 3 doctors and nurses.比较:be composed of/consist of 由…组成0前者需要用被动语态,而后者不能用被动语态。
e.g.This medical team was composed of 3 doctors and 2 nurses.This medical team consisted of 3 doctors and 2 nurses.6.in the future将来e.g.No one ever knows what will happen in the future.没人知道将来会怎样。
、比较:in future从今往后e.g.Try to be more careful in future. 以后要更小心一点。
7.obtain得到e.g.The researchers spent little money but still obtain accurate result.研究者花费很少钱,但还是获得了精确的结果。
比较:obtain, get, acquire, gain(1)obtain包含着“努力”、希望”或“决意”去获得某物的意思e.g.Ordinary people would then be able to use these means to obtain valuable information.那时平常的人便能运用这些手段去获取宝贵的信息。
(2)get是最普遍、使用范围最广的词。
e.g.Y ou can get the information you need from the reception desk.你可以在接待处得到你想获得的信息。
(3)acquire含有“努力获得,学到”的意思,并更强调在原来的基础上自然增长或新的增添。
e.g.They acquired talents through skill and effort.他们通过自己的技能和努力获得了才能。
(4)gain有obtain的含义,但除了强调需要努努奋斗才能得到以外,还有逐渐得到的意思。
e.g.The vase has gained steadily in value since they bought it.自从他们买下这只花瓶后,它的价值稳步上升。
8.Involve v.(1)to include包括e.g.That job involves traveling a lot.那项工作需要经常出差。
(2)involve sb./sth.in (be/get/become involved in)牵涉e.g.Don‟t involve me in your quarrel.别把我卷入你们的纠纷。
9.order v. 定购,订购(1)order sth.for sb/order sb.sth 为…订购e.g.He ordered three suits for himself./He ordered himself three suits.他为自己订购了3套西服。
(2)order sb.to do sth.。
命令…做某事e.g.The captain ordered his men to fire.。
上尉命令士兵们开火。
n.(1)定货;点菜e.g.I‟d like to place an order with your factory for 500 pairs of shoes.我想向你们厂订购500双鞋。
May I take your order now? 您要点什么菜?(2)命令e.g.It is the soldiers‟ duty to obey orders.服从命令是军人的天职。
(3)次序e.g.The actors and actresses are listed in alphabetical order.演员按字母顺序排列。
(4)适合操作;正常状况e.g. My MP4 is out of order.我的MP4坏了。

11.at the end在..._末端;在…结尾e.g.There is a supermarket at the end of this street.在路的尽头有家超市。
比较:by the end of到……以前,到……底in the end最终,最后e.g.They will have finished building the bridge by the end of next month.下月底大桥将建成。
