1．There are three giraffes.

[译文]有三只长顽鹿。

giraffe为可数名词，意为“长颈鹿”，其复数形式是giraffes。

e.g.We can see many giraffes in the zoo.

在动物园里我们能看到许多长颈鹿。

拓展：以f或fe结尾的可数名词变复数时，先将f或fe变为v，再加－es。

knife→knives leaf→leaves

将f，fe变v加－es变复数的名词歌诀

树叶（leaf）半数（half）自己黄，

妻子（wife）拿刀（knife）去杀狼，

吓得小偷逃命（life）忙。

注意：

①elephant的读音以元音音素/e/开头，所以“一头大象”应说an elephant。

②关注以下名词复数：

deer→deer monkey→monkeys

kangaroo→kangaroos giraffe→giraffes

2．The zoo has many kinds of animals, such as bears, zebras, giraffes and pandas.

[译文]动物园里有许多种动物，比如熊、斑马、长颈鹿和熊猫。

（1）many形容词，意为“许多”，后接可数名词的复数形式。 e.g.There are

many animals in the zoo.

动物园里有许多动物。

辨析：many与much

many 许多的 接可数名词复数 many apples 许多苹果

many people 许多人

much 许多的 接不可数名词 much meat 许多肉

much juice 许多果汁

（2）kind可数名词，意为“种类”。常见短语有：
