What Is Globalization?
Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people,
companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by
international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This
process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on
economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well-being in
societies around the world.
Globalization is not new, though. For thousands of years, people—and, later,
corporations—have been buying from and selling to each other in lands at great
distances, such as through the famed Silk Road across Central Asia that connected
China and Europe during the Middle Ages. Likewise, for centuries, people and
corporations have invested in enterprises in other countries. In fact, many of the

Nowadays, globalization is not only a hot issue that the members of the international business
elite debate but also a daily topic between the citizens.
Of course, globalization involves many aspects such as economy, language, culture and so on.
And when we want to pursue all aspects of all-around development, we can’t avoid staying in
contact with other countries. So globalization has become a unstoppable trend.
Just as every coin has two sides, globalization brings both benefits and negative effects for
human and everyone has their own opinion towards it. Some people believe that globalization is
a good thing, because they enjoy the convenience and quality life globalization brings and
globalization also make it easier for different countries communication, whereas others argue
that the developed countries are the only beneficiaries of globalization. Just as Jimmy carter says:”

Over the past two decades, our society has witnessed unprecedented
changes in the overwhelming trend of globalization. What has
globalization brought to us in the past two decades is uncertain. We can’t
get a conclusion that globalization is good or bad. Now, people all over
the world are talking about globalization, some people think that it is a
good invention while others see its negative influence. Everything has
two sides, globalization is not an exception.
First, in the terms of economic, promotion of liberal trade activities is
perhaps the greatest achievement of globalization. Globalization is
beneficial to rational allocation of resources and production factors. It is
helpful to scientific and technological expansion throughout the world.
