In our English class this semester, we just started a really cool new unit all about food. By the end of thatreading, I was absolutely craving a slice of pizza covered in gooey melted cheese!Oh and then there was this hilarious role-play dialogue we had to practice about two friends arguing over whether to go to a pizza place or a fancy French restaurant for dinner. The girl kept insisting on trying this incredible French place that served things like escargots (which are SNAILS by the way, gross!!) andcoq au vin. Meanwhile, the boy just wanted to go get a familiar pepperoni pizza. The arguments they had back and forth were so funny and exaggerated, but it really helped reinforce lots of new food vocabulary.As part of the unit, we also had to do a fun project making a menu for our own imaginary restaurant. We had to include sections like appetizers, main dishes, drinks, desserts and more. Then we had to create descriptions for each item on the menu using as much descriptive language as possible. Let me tell you, some of my classmates really went all out with their creativeness!
