1. something to eat

something to eat意为“吃的东西”。句中不定式短语to eat作后置定语，修饰不定代词something。在英语中，动词不定式（短语）作定语修饰名词或代词时，常位于所修饰词的后面；something为不定代词，不定代词的修饰语常后置。例如：
