Step 1.Review.
1、Let Ss. talk something about the Yu Gong and Monkey king. What can
you remember about the two stories?
2、Words Review, Ask the Ss, to read them after the recording.
Step 2.Warm up
1.Show one Picture of the Story. The Emperor’s New Clothes.
2.Ask some questions about it.
3.Introduce the story and the writer, Homs Christian Andersen and some
of his works Step 3.Matching
Work on 1a
1.Ask the Ss. to match the words with the letters in the pictures in 1b
2.Ask one student to show his answers ,then check together
3.Read the words together.
Step 4. Listening

1.Tell Ss. to look at the Pictures in1c. Tell them these Pictures are from
the story. Listen to the recording and number the pictures.
2.Play the recording, twice ,The first time, Ss. just listen .The second time
number the pictures.
3.Check the answers

1.let Ss. read the sentences in 1c first. Tell Ss. To listen again, and fill in
the blanks with the right words.
2.Play the recording again for the Ss. to listen and write the words.
3.Check the answers with the class.
4.Read the tape scripts. Read these sentences together.
