of the delicate balance that sustains our ecosystems. From

planet.

Have you ever seen a deer gracefully walking through the

truly amazing. But sadly, many of these wonderful creatures are

前几天，新闻报道说，苏州动物园里又新添了一只小虎妞。她是一只华南虎，是中国独有的虎种。多么可爱的小虎崽啊，她长得像一只温顺的小猫咪，忽闪着一对大大的眼睛，对周围的一切都充满了好奇。只有额头的三道黄色条纹，还依稀显示出森林之王的威严。在饲养员地精心喂养下，小虎妞渐渐长大了，现在已经可以在笼舍里自由散步了。

老虎曾经是森林的王者，可是却遭到了人类的无情猎杀。人们残忍地扒下虎皮，做成华丽的装饰品，以显示自己的身价；剔下虎骨，滋补身体，以求延年益寿，长生不老。可怜的老虎，快被人类逼上了绝路。

华南虎的命运更是危在旦夕。目前中国处于野生状态的华南虎仅有20至30只，养殖在动物园里的数量也仅有60只，它的数量远比大熊猫还要稀少。在最近的一次野外考察中，甚至没有发现活的野生华南虎个体，华南虎已接近物种灭绝的边缘。
