Step 1Lead-in
Show some photos of food and drink and have a short conversation with students. (详见素材一)
Step 2Reading
1.Teach the new words in Unit 2 by PPT.
2.Ask the students to read the passage carefully and complete the table in Activity 3.

Step 3Practice.
Play the recording of the passage in Activity 3 and ask the students to repeat it. Read through the words in the box in Activity 4 and complete the short passage.

Step 4Writing
Look at the sentences: Meat and fish are healthy food. Too much meat isn't healthy.
(1)Read the examples with the class.
(2)Work in pairs: Student A reads the first sentence in each example and student B reads the second one.
Now join the sentences with but.
(3)Ping-Pong game: Student A reads both sentences, and student B puts them together with “but”. Then student B reads another two sentences, and student A puts the two sentences together with“but”.
(4)Ask the students to write the sentences individually, and then check with their partners.
(5)Demonstrate that it isn't necessary to repeat something if it is the same as in the first part of the sentence.

Step 1Warming up
Divide the students into 6 groups and each group will have a picture of a famous person. Let the students work in groups and introduce the person. Then each group chooses one student to introduce the person to the whole class.
Step 2Reading
1.Let the students do the exercise in Activity 1 and check the answers together.( Answers: b d a e c)
2.Ask the students to read the passage in Activity 2 and check the true sentences.
3.Ask the students to correct the false sentences in Activity 2.
4.Let the students read the passage again and underline the correct words in Activity 3.
5.Tell the students to complete Activity 4, then check the answers with the whole class.
