1.我的一个老朋友要来看我。An old friend of mine is coming to see me.

?mine 我的(名词性物主代词)mine= my+ 名词

?is coming: 现在进行时表将来,相当于is going to come。常用的词有:go, leave, arrive 等表示位置移动的词。

?an old friend of mine 双重名词所有格(= one of my old friends)

结构:a/an/this/that/some/ two/ which…. +名词+of +名词性物主代词/某人的

例如:我妹妹的两个同学two classmates of my sister’s 她的一些朋友some friends of hers

.如果双重所有格中of前面的名词是portrait, picture, printing, photo等时,是指有关的人所收藏的肖像或照片等,而不是他本人的肖像或照片,

比如:This is a portrait of Mr. White's.( 这是怀特先生的一幅画像。指怀特先生所收藏的一幅画像。)

This is a portrait of Mr. White.( 这是怀特先生的一幅画像。指画中画的是怀特先生。)

2.冰箱里什么也没有。There’s not nothing in the fridge.(= There is not anything in the fridge.)

nothing 相当于not…anything , 作主语时动词用单数。

He did nothing.= He didn’t do anything.

None也表示“什么也没有”,强调数量,可以指人或物。

be nothing to…对…无足轻重have nothing to do with…与…无关

世上无难事,只怕有心人。Nothing is impossible to a willing mind.

3.咱们去超市吧。Let’s go to the supermarket.

Let”s 和let us 并不完全相同。L et”s 中的us包括对方,Let’s…., shall we?

Let us不包括对方, Let us…, will you?

让某人做某事:Let sb. do sth 让某人不做某事let sb. not do sth.= Don’t let sb do sth.

4.也许我们可以订一份披萨。Maybe we can order a pizza.

?m aybe “可能,大概,或许“,是副词,常放句首,相当于perhaps

?may be 中的may是情态动词,be是动词原形,may be “可能是,或许是”,He may be a teacher. 他可能是一位老师。

She may be right, and she maybe know how to do this job.

?order sb.(not) to do sth. 命令某人做某事

?in order to/in order that….为了

5.它够买一罐狗食吗?Is it enough for a tin of dog food?

Enough修饰名词放在名词前(enough money),修饰形容词和副词放在后面(tall enough) be…enough for对…足够…了。The room is big enough for 50 people.

Be…enough to do sth.足够…可以做某事。He is old enough to go to school. 他够大了,可以上学了。

6.我们带他们去看电影可以吗?Shall we take them to the cinema?

?Shall we…? 是一个提出建议或征询意见的句子,

肯定回答:Yes,please./All right./That’s a good idea./Good idea./I’d like to./Sure./Certainly.

否定回答:No, thanks./I’m sorry, I can’t./I don’t think so./I’m afraid not.

?其他表示提出建议或征询意见的句子:

1)How/What about…?

2)Let’s….

3)Why don’t you+ 动词原形?= Why not+ 动词原形?

4)Will you please….?

7.他们可以尝试一些中国食物。They can try some Chinese food.

try to do sth.表示尽自己最大能力做某事,等同于try one's best to do sth. ,努力想达到目的,看某事能否做到,重点在成败。

try doing sth.表示尝试着做某事, 只是试着去做,没有说十分想成功,作到的意思,指看某种方法可否解决问题,重点在试验。

?You’re welcome. 表示“不用谢。”用来回答thank you的答句。相当于It’s a pleasure.

9.在阳光镇有许多事情可以做。There are lots of things to do in Sunshine Town.

?lots of = a lot of “许多,大量”,后可以跟可数名词复数或不可数名词。在否定句中,通常用many (可数复数)、much(不可数)。

?“things to do.”意为“要做的事,可以做的事”,其中,动词不定式to do 是来修饰前面的名词,作后置宾语,和名词的关系是动宾关系。To do + 名词。例如:some milk to drink. (to drink some milk). many books to read(to read many books) 注意,如果动词是不及物动词,动词后必须加上合适的介词。如:a piece of paper to write on.(to write on the paper). a house for you to live in.(to live in a house)

?There be + 主语+ v.ing. 意为“有某人在做某事”,例如:There are many people playing in the park. 有许多人在公园里玩。There is a boy singing in the room. 有个男孩在屋

子里唱歌。

?There be + 名词+ to do 意为“有…可以做”,

10.阳光镇离北京中心不远。Sunshine Town is not far from the centre of Beijing.

?be far from …“离…远”,far是个不具体的远,from后要接表示地点的具体宾语。

My school is very far from my hous.

?be far away “遥远的”,后不接宾语。The new cinema is very far away.

?away from“离…有…远”,away前一般有表示具体具体距离的数目。The building is 2000 miles away from the post office.

11.坐地铁只要40分钟。It takes only 40 minutes by underground.

take “需要,花费(时间)”

It takes +某人+时间/金钱+ to do sth. “某人花费多少时做某事”。(It是形式主语,to do sth 是句子真正主语)

Spend “花费,度过”其主语一定是“人”,句型:

Sb spend some time or money (in) doing sth.

Sb spend some time or money on sth.

12.北京烤鸭非常有名。Beijing Duck is very famous.

famous “著名的,出名的”= well –known

?be famous to…对…来说是著名的,to后一般接人。

?be famous for…因…而著名,一般for后接闻名的原因,因为什么事情而闻名。

?be famous as…以…(身份)而闻名,as后接表示职位或身份的词语。

13.如果你不喜欢中国食物,….。If you don’t like Chinese food,…

if是连词,“假如,如果”,引导条件状语从句。在条件状语从句中,如果主语用一般将来是,if从句用一般现在时表示将要发生的动作。

14.为什么不参观我们当地的剧院并享受京剧呢?Why not visit our local theatres and enjoy

Beijing Opera?

Why not do sth. ? == Why don’t you/we do sth.? 意为“为什么我们/你(们)不做某事呢?”,是常用的表示建议,劝告或责备的句型。

15.我们期待马上见到你们。We are looking forward to meet ing you soon.

?Look forward to …期待/盼望做某事,这里特别要注意to是介词,后面跟名词,或v.ing

?soon 不久,很快,常用词组:as soon as possible 尽可能快地

?as soon as 一…就…I will call you as soon as he comes back. 他一回来我就给你打电话。

16.那是谁的钥匙环?Whose key is that?

Key “钥匙;答案;关键”,the key to…, 注意key后通常用介词to 表示所属关系。类似的单词有the answer to…, the way to…, the trip to…, the note to…

17.它们到处都是。They’re all over the place.

all over the place“到处”,all over“到处;遍及”

all over the world= around the world= throughout the world 全世界

18.这儿是我的书。Here’s my book.

本句是以Here开头的倒装句。在主语是名词的情况下,here只有指示意义,不能作为地点状语。

在英语中,here 和there 放在句首时,句子的主语时名词是,完全倒装,即动词在前,主语在动词后;当句子的主语是代词时,半倒装,即动词在主语之后。

19.…还有许多。…and many more.

more在这里作代词,另外,more 是many和much的比较级,表示“更多的”

more可以用many 或much 来修饰,many more+名词复数,much more+不可数名词20.他不是租用的别人的公寓。He does not rent the flat from others.

?others是不定代词,意为“其他的人,别人”,相当于other people. 固定结构:some…others…一些…其余的...

?other作形容词,意为“别的,其他的”,后接可数名词复数或不可数名词。Where are the other girls?

?the other可与单数名词或不可数名词搭配,指“两者中的另一个”。One…the other…

意为“(两者中的)一个…,另一个…。I have two rulers. One is red and the other is blue.

?another是形容词,意思是“另一,再一”,指三者中或三者以上的“另外一个”。I don’t like this shirt. Show me another one.

Another +可数名词单数,another +数词+可数名词复数

21.我在谈论一张CD,不是其他某物。I am talking about a CD, not something else.

?else “其他的,别的”,常用来修饰疑问代词或不定代词,必须放在所修饰词的后面。

What/Which else do you like?

?else 作副词,意为“另外,其他”,修饰疑问副词。Where else can you see that dog?

?else的名词所有格形式为:eles’s , This is someone else’s bike.

23.不要错过他们。Don’t miss them.

这是祈使句的否定形式。祈使句是用来表示命令、请求、建议、警告、禁止等意义的句子。肯定祈使句用动词原形开头;否定祈使句用Don’t + 动词原形。

?miss vt. “错过,没赶上”,另外还有“想念,思念”的意思。

?miss vt. “未击中,未抓住”的意思He tried to catch the ball, but he missed it.

?missing 丢失的,失踪的,缺少的The girl is missing. ( 那个女孩失踪了。)

24.你可以在博物馆里了解到一切关于中国历史的东西。You can learn all about China’s

history at the museum.

?learn about 1)学习,了解;2)获悉,得知learn of 得知,获悉

?learn to do sth. 学习做某事learn…by heart 记住…,背诵…

one of+可数名词复数或复数代词,后动词用单数。One of them is from Beijing.

26.它离酒店有多远?How far is it from the hotel?

How far…“多远”,常用来询问距离和路程,it在这里指的是距离,

常用结构:How far is it from…to …? 从…到…有多远?

27.……,不是另外一种类型的商店。…,not another kind of shop.

?another adj.只三者或三者以上的“另一个的”

another+ 可数名词单数,another bottle

another + 数词+可数名词复数,此时,表示“还,又,再”another two parks

?another pron.指不定数量中的”另一个再一个”I don’t like this dress, give me another.

28.raise/arise/rise的区别

?raise是及物动词,后面一定要加宾语,表示把某具体事物抬起高处或提高某抽象事物(工资、地位等),提起,使升高,引起,扬起,提高,增加,筹款,召集,提出,养育

?rise不及物动词,使用范围广,既用于具体事物的“上升、增长”,又用于抽象事物的“上涨、发生”

?arise不及物动词,没有“上升”之意,多指“产生、发生和出现”,常用于抽象事物,不能用被动
