There are quite a lot of street sculptures in big cities, which show a kind of culture or reflect the
change and development of a city, and very often different people have different understanding of
the street sculptures.
Here we see one. The man who stands for the old generation is obviously a learned person,
wearing old-fashioned glasses and clothes that date back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
He is looking at the laptop in great curiosity, unable to figure out what it is. The girl, on the other
hand, is totally different: she has long hair, wears a fashionable short skirt and is operating the
modern device skillfully, leaving him wondering what she is doing.
The striking differences between the two persons perhaps show the rapid changes in people’s life
in China, the great development of the times and the progress of civilization. But most important
of all, the sculpture reflects the history and culture of the city and it’s a perfect combination of
tradition and modernization.
