3. why do so many students want to study abroad? Different people hold different ideas
[1] Many of them feel like studying a language i n a country where it’s spoken
will help them to learn it way much faster.
[2] Others feels that studying abroad gives them a kind of prestige in their
home country. It may even lead them to a better job.
[3] And only a few people want to study abroad just for the experiences and
for the excitement what it can bring.
I will extend my contents from the three aspects.
Let’s see the advantages first.
1.As we all know, Study abroad is the optimal way to learn a language. While a person can study a foreign language in his or her own country, it cannot compare with constant use of the language in academic and daily life. There is no better opportunity to improve second-language during one’s studies Moreover, having used the language during one’s studies offers a distinct advantage when one is applying for jobs back home that require the language.
2. Study abroad provides the opportunity to travel.
You can enjoy the local scenery and delicious food. Feel the special culture.
3. Study abroad will help you to develop your skills and give you some experiences what can not get if you just sitting in the classroom.
You may encounter many others from overseas and it is possible to make friends from all around the world. This is not only exciting on a social level, but could lead to important overseas contacts in later professional life.
living and studying abroad offers you a new and different perspective of the world and, perhaps most important, of your own country. Once beyond the initial shock of being in a new culture, the student slowly begins to get a meaningful understanding of the host society. On returning home, one inevitably sees your own country in a new, often more appreciative light.
5. Study abroad gives you the opportunity to break out of your academic routine.
attending a college abroad can help you learn more than you can get from universities in your own country, especially when they go to a developed country catching up with the pace of scientific and technical advance of the world from the modern lab facilities there.
Disadvantages
1. The student will be away from the family for a significant period.
they have to deal with many unexpected hardships by living away from their parents and homeland. For example, medical insurance, daily foods, clothes, rents and transportation can generate a large amount of living expenses.
2. The student will experience culture shock.
Some peers may not be able to adapt to a new environment of their
studying and living. The timetable, The Way how to act on the street or in
a museum or in a restaurant, All these can be problems.
3. The study habits and learning practices that the students had grown accustomed with could be also challenged.
4. Studying abroad can be really expensive.
Some Chinese students are so academically successful that they receive
