一、创设情境

Show Ss some pictures about classical stories and talk about them.

T: Have you heard of these books?(Alice in Wonderland, Little

Women,Treasure Island, Oliver Twist,Robinson Crusoe,Tom Sawyer)

二、启发思考

1. Work on Activity 1a

Have you heard of these books? Check (√) the ones you know.

2.Show Ss some pictures about classical stories and introduce them

briefly.

3. Let students match the book titles with the pictures.

三、自主或小组探究

1. Work on 1b

Ask Ss tolisten and plete the chart.

2. Work on 1c

Practice the conversation. Then talk about the other books in 1a.

Give examples of the conversation and explain some useful words.

3. Work on 2a

Listen. Who has read these books? Circle the names.

4. Work on 2b

Listen again and write T for true and F for false.

5. Work on 2c

Use the information in 2a and 2b to talk about the books.

四、协作交流

Role play the conversation in 2d.

1. Let students answer the questions according to the text.

2. Language points: explain the key words and phrases in section A-1.

1. Revision.

Ask Ss to review the word phrases that learned before.

2. Free talk

What do you think about Robinson Crusoe? Can you imagine his life on the

island? What could he do toprotect himself?

二、启发思考

Free talk:

1. If you have read the story, what do you know about this story?

2. Who is the main character?

3. How does the story begin?

4. What happened next?

三、自主和小组探究

1. Work on 3a Read the passage based on Robinson Crusoe. Then answer the questions.

2. Work on 3b

Read the passage again. Find words that have these meanings.

3. Work on 3c

Correct the sentences.

4. Grammar points: Present perfect (现在完成时).

Show Ss the sentences below, paying attention to the coloured words.

Explanation of the definition about “present perfect tense”. Review the

use of the present perfect tense briefly and explain the present perfect

with already, yet. Tell the difference between the present perfect and

the simple past tense.

5. Work on 4a and 4b.

4a Use the words in brackets to plete the conversations.

4b Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in brackets.
