一、教材分析:
这是新目标英语(Go for it)八年级下册第五单元第一课时。
本单元通过构建过去场景中正在发生的各种情况引导学生学习并使用过去进行时。
如何使用过去进行时及使用when、while引导的时间状语从句是本单元的重点内容。
2.教学重点:过去进行时态:“was / were + doing”结构

二学生分析:
学生七年级下册就学过现在进行时,并掌握如何使用现在进行时来描述日常活动,而且掌握了一些日常活动的短语,有利于他们学习过去进行时.
