Step One Warming up and lead-in

1. Self-introduction:

T: My name is Cai Weibo. I’m from Chengbei Middle School. Let me show you two

pictures of me.

( Picture 1: my big family; picture 2: many records. )

T: I belong to a big family. These are my parents and those are my brother and sisters.

My sister Cai Ming is aboard and I really miss her. This is me. I like singing and

listening to music. And I have many records. I’m a big fan of country music.

T: Are you a fan of music? Let’s enjoy the beauty of music.

2. Task1 Kinds of music

6. Task5 Influence of country music

1) Read the passage carefully. To better understand the text, Ss underline the

main ideas(找出每段中最能表达中心思想的几个句子). Then check the answers.

Tell Ss that underlining the main ideas can also help them better understand the text.

2) Ask Ss to use the underlined text to write short answers to the questions. And

finish the chart below.

3) 3 Ss in a group. Using the notes made in 2c, each student write a short

summary for one paragraph. Then combine them together. Pay attention to the

connectives to tweak the individual bits so that it sounds like it is written by one

person.

4) Ask some groups to show their summaries. Give group members gifts for their

good behaviors.
