Good morning/afternoon/evening. Today, I stand before you to discuss a

topic that is of paramount importance to our planet and its future:

energy. As we navigate the complexities of our world, energy stands as a

cornerstone for development, growth, and sustainability. It is the

lifeblood of our modern society, yet it is a resource that we must

manage wisely and responsibly.

In the past century, the world has witnessed a remarkable transformation,

driven by the power of fossil fuels. However, this period of growth has

come at a cost. The environmental degradation, the health risks, and the

geopolitical tensions associated with the reliance on finite resources

such as coal, oil, and natural gas are becoming increasingly apparent.

It is within this context that the concept of renewable energy has

gained traction. Solar, wind, hydro, and other renewable sources of

energy offer us a path towards a sustainable future. Unlike fossil fuels,

these resources are abundant, inexhaustible, and clean, providing a win-win situation for both the environment and the economy.

Let us take a closer look at solar energy, an excellent example of

renewable energy that has the potential to revolutionize our lives. Born

in the city of Dezhou, often referred to as the "World Solar City," I

have witnessed firsthand the power of the sun to transform our energy

landscape.

In Dezhou, solar energy is applied widely and efficiently. The city

boasts over 120 solar energy-related enterprises, and this year, Dezhou

will host the Fourth World Solar City Conference. The benefits of solar

energy are clear: it generates electricity and heat as long as the sun

shines, and its lifespan spans billions of years.

Consider this: a 20-square-meter solar rooftop is equivalent to a 3-kilowatt small power generation unit. In one year, it can generate 3,300

kilowatt-hours of electricity. Multiply this by the thousands of

rooftops across our cities, and we can envision a world where renewable

energy is the norm rather than the exception. The transition to renewable energy is not without its challenges. There

are technological hurdles, economic considerations, and the need for

infrastructure development. However, the benefits far outweigh the costs.

Clean energy can reduce pollution, mitigate climate change, and create

new job opportunities in the renewable sector.

In conclusion, it is imperative that we prioritize the development and

adoption of renewable energy sources. As stewards of our planet, we have

a responsibility to ensure that our energy consumption does not

compromise the health of our environment or the well-being of future

generations.

Let us work together to harness the power of the sun, the wind, and the

water. By doing so, we can pave the way for a sustainable, prosperous,

and clean-energy future. Thank you.
